i bought it new 2 hours ago. a gift to a friend's son.

it was quite expensive(normal price, like a mw3, skyrim, etc)

i tried the demo, and really liked it. i loved sonic games(before 3d stuff), i hope this generations is cool.

anyone here have it ? what do you think ?

Well my roommate is having a blast with his. I was thinking of getting it myself if I have some spending money after rent. It incorporates 2D (for the classic fans like you and myself) with the original Sonic option or you can 3d as well with the recent Sonic (if you want to look at fan favourite stages like Green Hill Zone in a new perspective). So give it a try if you can...

Seems good, likewise I bought this the other day for my son (mainly :D). I was lucky enough to get it on Steam for about 7 quid though!

Wish I could get Rayman Origins for that price too I love that game and so does my son who keeps playing the demo over and over.. PSN price is way to high but I am willing too and probably will end up paying 'normal' full price for it..

@Kyosuke_Sanada Agree.. I love these kinda games they remind me of gaming of old..

LNDCalling,i saved a bit during this summer, for uncharted 3, and other gems. i bought rayman day 1, it is incredible. one of the best games i played this year. sometimes difficulty can be a bit high, specially when catching the red tooth, and will require good skills, but the overall game, man, it's incredible. graphics, sound, animation, effects, several plans scrolling, animated, blured or not, in 60fps. you have to play the full game to see what i mean. it's really impressive how it's done. it's what we can call a masterpiece.if you like platforms and the demo, please pick the full game, or wait until it goes platinum(in case you bought 10 games these last months :), but don't forget to pick it, later. i'm at the last level, it's really tough, i stopped playing for a moment, because uncharted 3 arrived :) but i spent at least 20 hours on it, without even catching all the items and finding all the hidden stuff... there is so much to do with rayman, you have to see those levels moving and those catchy musics.

really, if you like platforms, and can play with someone else, or alone, in the same room, get ready to spend 20+ hours laughing and saying "wow, how did they do all that stuff, at 60fps". so please, don't miss it.

@atomike Thanks for the reply...

I have about 5 games on my 'must get' list right now but don't worry Rayman is right up there and from what I've played it is everything you said and a beautiful game indeed something I'm willing to shell out full price for! :)

And it is definitely one of those games I can dive straight in on and be immersed from the get go, not something I can say about most games these days..

The 7 Best Sonic the Hedgehog Games: Racing through Time

Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?

Rebel_Scum463d ago

Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.

Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.

Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Snookies12463d ago

Nothing wrong with putting Generations over Mania. Generations had a lot more to it. Mania was just a bit too short, despite how amazing it was. They're both top-tier Sonic games though.

Profchaos463d ago (Edited 463d ago )

I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.

Mania was 5 hours roughly

However i say the originals feel more repayable because they are so short

Profchaos463d ago (Edited 463d ago )

The 8 bit games were pretty bad overall do you mean the 16 bit ones

Rebel_Scum463d ago

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.

Profchaos463d ago

Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2

persona4chie463d ago

Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭

Chocoburger461d ago

Even as a Sonic fan, I didn't really care for those games, and getting the Chaos Emeralds were freakin' horrible. Even with an emulator and save states, I didn't have the desire to try. I also didn't like most of the levels or bosses either. Unfortunately, DiMPs aren't good at making Sonic games.

Why the Separation Between Modern and Classic Sonic is a Double-Edged Sword

The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.
