Ed Smith of VideoGameOlogists.com writes:
"Gradually, the realistic aesthetic and the new focus on novelistic qualities will compromise computer games’ artistic raison d’être. As new sensibilities, fueled by new technologies and more sophisticated criticism are pushed forward by the FPSs, games will enter a period of total reclassification and redefinition. The word “game” will cease to apply to texts which grow in complexity and digital gaming with mature to the point where it completely outgrows the ideals that originally compelled it. It may be at odds with the central concept of “games” but given the current domination of the FPS, the realist aesthetic is likely to define this console generation and influence the philosophy of game making for years to come."

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

Players are using hacks to gain an advantage in the game, such as aimbots and wall hacks. The first gives a player superhuman aiming abilities, while a wall hack lets you see through walls to gauge where other players are.
“These hacks are typically used by PC players, but those playing on PC via Xbox Game Pass are identified as Xbox players in multiplayer lobbies.”
This is pretty dumb to say the least.
Don't Gamepass online games have anti-cheat systems?
If not, that's pretty dumb. Microsoft need to fix that asap.
I mean, COD games was always filled with hackers, nothing new. I can’t blame MS on this. Activision had years to try and fix this. Might take MS some time to make some change.
I hate that they talk about this now when we've had SO many realistic shooters like Rainbow Six, Counter Strike, and Arma to name a few. Battlefield is only semi-realistic. Tactical yes, but I don't think it warrants a major discussion about realism in games. If anything, speculate about Rainbow Six Patriots.
It's crazy how all these realistic games have Poisoned all the other first person shooter games they all run on the same mechanics now I can't have fast gameplay I can't have more than 2 weapons and I have to sprint and tuck my gun like a noob. No I don't mind having realistic games but it's gone overboard every single first person shooter is the same in gaming mechanics. On that note of the realistic aspect alot of these games fall short as I've played games like soldier of fortune2 and others that have way more detailed and bullets that hit the body, limbs detach etc etc. A great example is duke nukem which is a fantasy game and look at it's mechanics same thing. Give us back fantasy games!!!! Duke nukem 3 d walks all over the new version why because it's fast paced tons of weapons at hand. It's a virus in the video game industry this realistic everything is runing gaming for the hard core players
If it wasnt for fps and racing games id hardly play these days singleplayer just bores me i cant get into it anymore except for the mass effect series it keeps me intrested.
