PSLS: Best Fighting Game 2011

Mortal Kombat was my childhood. No, I didn’t live in some sadistic house of horrors, but I did spend a good deal of time at local arcades, loading up the MK coin-op with quarter after quarter. I thought those days were behind me.

My #1 fighter of the year is definitely King of Fighters 13, followed by BlazBlue Continuum Shift II. Hey, what can I say? I love the 2D fighters.

Mortal Kombat is shit. nobody gives a damn about it at tournies, everybody's playing AE or MvC. because they're actually great competitive fighting games. MK never has been and never will be.

actually, i did. i grew up playing Mortal Kombat up until the N64. that doesn't make them good fighting games. i was just a kid entertained by the violence and gore.

I'm just saying that you are being too harsh on MK that's all. It is true that MK had alot of letdowns after Mortal Kombat 4 which lead to to a severe drop in fan base for the coming years. However, they have finally made a great title which is slowly winning the hearts of players so they will never be as competitive as SF is kinda farfetched in my opinion. Just give it time...
