Shock and awe, its not like they are paying a yearly subscription for it or anything like that. . .oh wait, they are.

Titanz4507d ago (Edited 4507d ago )

Nothing to brag about.

Double fail if elite members have to pay for DLC.

gamingdroid4507d ago (Edited 4507d ago )

No, Elite members do not have to pay for DLC, they already did! So all the DLC is included with the subscription.

More of a failed assumption if anything....

theonlylolking4507d ago

You know nothing about elite if you do not even know that ALL of the DLC for the game will be free.

Soldierone4507d ago

So. Us "normal" users that are not paying out the butt for Elite have to wait almost two months to get the DLC now if we are on PS3. Meanwhile "Elite" subscribers that are on PS3 BARELY get it early by 6 days. So they paid 50 dollars to get DLC 6 days early....

I'm glad Activision is making money off Microsoft to screw their customers. I'm also glad I sold MW3 and went back to MW2 and Black Ops if i want to play COD, I'll be playing the "new" maps before they re-release anyways. Honestly at this point Elite at the minimum and the game itself (at the most) should be cheaper on PS3 because they are not being treated equally. You have PAYING CUSTOMERS that you said EFF YOU to simply because Microsoft told you to, so obviously you don't care about them.

Gamer-Z4507d ago

I know right i went back to MW2 and COD4 as well, cant stand MW3 it has to be the worst COD ever made.

GraveLord4507d ago

LOL! You've been hating MW3 before it was even released. I seriously doubt you even own MW2 or COD4.

2pacalypsenow4507d ago (Edited 4507d ago )

agreed Mw2 is way better MW3 just sucks the maps are horrible im just glad i bought BF3 instead

gamingdroid4507d ago

You actually don't know that yet!

This is all assumption and the source of this article wasn't even really given.

... but yeah, nothing wrong with prioritizing the most loyal of your customers. If you are upset and don't want to wait, you have the option of buying the pass.

Soldierone4507d ago

The thing is, the "assumptions" are actually best case scenario. What I mean by that is unless Activision worked out a loophole deal with Microsoft, than these assumptions will be the best bet otherwise it will be worse in terms of everyone else getting things late.

In my opinion they should of worked on it longer and released it in 2013 instead, since the stupid Microsoft deal ends in 2012.

gamingdroid4507d ago

@Soldierone

It's just business, Sony has their business dealings favoring their console with 3rd parties, and MS has theirs.

If you want it sooner, maybe you should have bought it on the Xbox 360.

***In my opinion they should of worked on it longer and released it in 2013 instead, since the stupid Microsoft deal ends in 2012.***

What?

I don't understand what you are saying, but it sounds like you are upset at the MS deal. Why be angry? Accept or join....

Besides there are plenty of good things on PS3, like BF3 preference.

Mikeyy4507d ago

@gamingdroid,

I feel that our contract with activision for elite superseded activisions deal with Microsoft.

Ps3 users are owed the dlc at the same time 360 elite users get it. No if ands or buts. I was sold and promised a product with conditions.

radphil4507d ago (Edited 4507d ago )

"If you want it sooner, maybe you should have bought it on the Xbox 360."

Again I will reiterate what I stated a little while back:

What makes the $60 that Person 1 paid for the 360 version should be more worth it than a person that paid the same price on the PS3 version.

I don't mind it when there's things as exclusives, but this only hurts legit customers in the long run, and there will be a breaking point sooner or later. Thing is this is a MONTH, not a week, not a few days, MONTH. And the only way to remotely get it at the same time, is by paying extra into the Elite service.

Not only that, but it even alienates the players IN the game itself, because a nice chunk won't have said DLC for a while, so you split the fanbase right then and there.

gamingdroid4507d ago

@radphil

Publishers has time and time again treated different customers belonging to different platforms repeatedly. Nobody complained about that...

Heck BF3 got the super PS3 treatment, not because the Xbox 360 wasn't able to do it. It was simply held back, because EA preferred PS3/PSN and they cut a deal.

That hurts consumers as well, and if you have issues with that, the simple choice is not to buy it.

Why buy, then complain? The DLC being released on the Xbox 360 early compared to the PS3 was well known in advance.

Activision's obligation is only to give Elite members DLC access earlier than the general public on that platform. As far as I know, they have never stated anything else.

***What makes the $60 that Person 1 paid for the 360 version should be more worth it than a person that paid the same price on the PS3 version.***

One could argue that MS having a contract with Activision ensures MS' customer comes first. If you have any, then you should ask the competitors why they aren't negotiating deals to favor their customers.

radphil4506d ago (Edited 4506d ago )

"Heck BF3 got the super PS3 treatment, not because the Xbox 360 wasn't able to do it. It was simply held back, because EA preferred PS3/PSN and they cut a deal. "

They cut the deal, because it was a last minute situation cause they backed out originally of giving 1943. People were expecting a game, not the 1 week business.

And the thing is a month given with a FPS? That's an extremely long time to add various content that splits up the userbase EVEN more so given with one having Elite or not.

" It should be noted that PC players are still out of luck with not even having Elite on PC".

And not a single fuck was given that day.

trenso14507d ago

So do elite Xbox user get it before elite ps3 users is the question now

BattleTorn4506d ago

This has practically been confirmed; Activison has confirmed Xbox Elite DLC arrives Jan. 24th. And that PS3 Elite member will have to wait until "early January" for their release details.

Which, in my mind, means PS3 release details will be revealed when they officially announce the DLC

trenso14505d ago

So ps3 owners get screwed over even though they paid great :D glad I didn't buy the game

Call of Duty Players Disappointed by $80 B.E.A.S.T. Glove Bundle Deal

Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

melons13d ago

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac13d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

X-2312d ago

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.

Certain to have some sort of reference to their online store for CBD/THC chews, which is advertising heavily online the last month or two.

Sciurus_vulgaris27d ago

The randomness of the multiplayer characters is one of reason I quit playing COD after briefly returning in 2022. We got Space Marines, rappers, tree monsters etc. all in a series called “ Modern Warfare”.

OtterX27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

I think if there was ever a time for a competitor to rise up and take away some of Call of Duty's thunder, the time would be now. A military shooter that takes itself seriously, not sold out to Fortnitism. Easier said than done, I know... but the time is ripe.

I can't stand this stuff either.

Palitera27d ago

There are tons of MP shooters that make no profit, if you're looking for one of those

fsfsxii27d ago

You guys have been saying this shit since 2009. Fortunately, nobody’s bringing down cod anytime soon, if ever.

crazyCoconuts27d ago

I agree. I really didn't like how the silliness takes away the gritty origins. That and all the crazy effects... dunno. I'm still playing it but I'd love for someone to steal their cheese and cater to grittier players

OtterX27d ago

@fsfsxii It's not so much wanting COD itself to die as it is wanting this silliness to die. Like CrazyCoconuts said, it takes from the grittiness. Many OG COD players want a straightup Military shooter experience, not silly costume time at Carnival.

Knightofelemia27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Profchaos27d ago

Why just why. cod up in smoke

anast27d ago

They charge too much for a game that is kitsch.

MW3 missed its easiest opportunity to give us some of the best Call of Duty maps ever made

From Bootleg to Black Box, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 made a heartbreaking mistake by not remastering the bizarrely forgotten maps from its namesake.
