Here is a list of 10 highest earning video game companies according to 2010 revenue reports.
Very surprised to see Sony games division ahead of MS games division and I can't believe Namco Bandai and Sega are higher than EA!
Well I believe 2011 revenue will put EA ahead of (at-least) Sega, lets wait for 2011 revenue reports.
Profit wise MS would be on top. But not for revenue, which is just logical due to the fact that Sony has the PSP, PS2 and PS3 running. Sure PSP and PS2 are not that huge anymore, but they generate revenue anyway.
Count me surprised too.Never expected to see Namco Bandai that high up,though Sega usually is in the top 10 each year.Glad to see SCE doing so well.
It's because CoD makes like 90% of their earnings...
I'm surprised they're not higher! :P
Revenue doesn't mean a lot. If a company has a revenue of 15 billion but expenses of 20 billion then they are losing 5 billion. A company with 5 billion of revenues with expenses of 2 billion is making 3 billion. A list that shows how much profit (revenue - expenses) would be much more meaningful.
You are right to some extent but revenue does show how big a company is as profit wise, even Frictional Games would be ahead of EA.
Lol MGS Metal Gear Solid or Microsoft Game Studios
i wish i would make a billion dollars a year! that would be sick!
Well, all that money wouldnt be yours, it would be the companies money, but you would get a sizable chunk og dough if you did manage to make the company lots of money ala Bobby Nodick.
Sony has a lot of loyalists...they know how to bring the talent and nurture it.
Ubisoft should be higher up they kinda deserve it. How is Sega higher than EA? Maybe this year after BF3 they will increase a bit.
Where do they get the numbers from? I can't find any links for reference.
From multiple sources including official documents (some figures you can even check on Wikipedia). It took one heck of a week to compile these figures but they are verified from multiple sources.
