.....While the PS3 has served us great these past few years, being a self-proclaimed “tech head”, I can’t help but wonder (and speculate) about the PS3′s successor: the PlayStation 4 (or so I hope it’s called that. See: Japanese superstition regarding the number 4. lol) I’d like to spend a little time discussing four simple, but important, topics regarding the PS4:
1) The Hardware 2) The Software 3) Connectivity 4) Price/Release Time........
Neocrisis - Here are some of the hardest platinum trophies to get on the PS3 and PS4. These are the ones that I was able to get myself.
Some of the hardest platinums imo.
Orcs Must Die Uchained
Enter The Gungeon
Max Payne 3
Nuclear Throne
Super Meat Boy
MGS 5 is not a hard platinum, it's just time consuming.
How is Killzone 2 not on this list?
My most enjoyable platinum was 2016 R&C. Most plats get tedious towards the end but R&C was fun the entire time.
Socom confrontation is the true hardest plat they made that dumb hard to ever get the plat i doubt any one in the world besides the devs got the plat
PS4 just earned a new rank as it continues its journey to 100 million.
Best selling PS4 game is UC4 at 4 mil+?? WTF? It's not the best selling game on PS4 but it still sold like 10mil copies already by now.
Wow ps4 shows its strenght. After 4 years is already in top 10. Surprise for me was og ps. I didnt knew it surpassed wii. And 62m for NES. Wow!
Wow! Sony has 3 of the top 4 and the PS4 looks to be moving up into one of those spots. Crazy after all the issue with the PS3, it outsold the 360. And they turned it around by taking MS's lead. They focused on 1st party titles and making the gamer their top priority, like MS did for the 360s first 3-4 yrs. Then they started thinking too far ahead like their PC division.
The Vita is a well-designed system, albeit one that Sony left for dead as soon as it hit its first bump in the road. If it weren't for a couple negative quirks, it might have even been one of the best handhelds ever made. Unfortunately, those quirks have turned into awful problems as of late, and have only served to tarnish the legacy of what has otherwise been an excellent cult system.
I like the Vita a lot. I actually blame Sony in putting less faith in it than it should
I'll always find it hilarious how even when Sony seemingly abandoned their second handheld, Vita still outsold Wii U which was heavily supported by Nintendo.
Never underestimate the power that third party support can do for a platform.
got the vita although it was dead on arrival. mobile gaming on dedicated machines is deadder than dead. oh wait, the switch is doing stellar, even rivaling the ps4, the xbox and the new xoxbox. ok, let's forget for one second about the absolute market dominator: when was the last time you saw someone playing his or her dedicated machine outside? I can't really remember. what I'm seeing everyday though is that everybody and their little daughter got smartphones when they are on their way to go somewhere.
Vita was and still amazing. Playing uncharted and gravity rush on it was simply epic. Such a shame Sony gave up on it
Just cos Sony bought back the Cell plant from Toshiba, does'nt mean that the plant will be used for Cell chips. It was rumoured a while back that the plant gonna be used for increased production for camera chips.
And I still believe that PS4 will have some upgraded Cell chip.
What i want for PS4
Hardware
Cell 2 CPU (full backwards compatibility with PS1, 2, 3 and PSN games. Better physics, AI, Shaders etc)
Kepler or Maxwell based Nvidia GPU (no gimping this time, they thought developers would be able to maximize the Cell CPU, turns out they mostly used the weak GPU and let the cell waste)
4GB or 6GB total Memory
12X Quad Layer Bluray Reader with DVD & CD support
USB 3.0 Port (at least 2x) or Hybrid Thunderbolt/USB Port
Bluetooth 4.0 (full compatibility with PS3 accessories)
2x HDMI 1.4a or better, 1x Optical Audio, SD Card Slot
Ethernet port and Wifi BGN
Software
1. Cross Game Voice and Video Chat(video overlay over game)
2. Gameplay streaming to Youtube, Ustream, NicoNico or PS Home and Recording etc
3. Revamped non XMB UI but with some elements from XMB
4. Revamped PSN with same day Retail and download release
Pretty much everything currently on Vita and more.
Controllers
Modified DualShock design with a 4-inch curved OLED screen smack dab in the middle, biometric sensors around it, front and back cameras and sixaxis motion sensors.
Vastly improved PS Move controller
Eyetoy 3.0
Dual HD Cameras with Depth Sensors. (3D recording, Chat)
All good, but why not a Blu Ray drive that plays 200gig disks. Also b/c for all PS3 games without compromise, would be nice, with continued support & not just the early, early adoptors like myself.
I don't want no led screen in my controller, to make it some big, uncomfortable piece of crap....truly, a screen on my controller is totally uneccessary, & only takes money from other useful features within the actual console. Just slightly re-design the current ds3 controllers to make the triggers far more prominant & trigger like, boost up the face buttons by 2, to make it 6 face buttons, invent a far better digital pad solution with a small (possibly steel with plastic ball end) joystick sticking out of it, just like a mini-arcade joystick as this would make it the ultimate fight game pad, slightly re-design the shape & ergonomics of the current ds3 to make it fit even more comfortably in the hand (although DS3 is very good now & is by far my fave controller, no controller out there has it nailed).
Make the anologue sticks, actual sticks & the supporting ball joint parts all out of stainless steel to avoid the wearing that all current plastic ones cop. Make analogue rubber nubs concave & rough textued.
