Infectious spores and mushroom mutants in gaming, TV and movies.
One of the biggest announcements at this year’s VGAs – The Last Of Us. The surprise for most was that it’s being developed by Naughty Dog. That alone has put it on most people’s radars. Though gameplay is shrouded in mystery it looks like an action/horror game with ND’s expected level of characterisation, acting and attention to detail. If you can’t wait to find out more about the game there are at least some interesting movies, games and TV shows that have explored a similar premise of killer infections. Here’s a list of some of the more obvious ones...
This looks awesome. ’ Halloween Horror Night sends Neil Druckmann, Co-Studio Head & Head of Creative at Naughty Dog, and Troy Baker, the actor behind Joel, on a terrifying excursion of the “The Last of Us” haunted house, based on Naughty Dog and PlayStation’s award-winning post-pandemic video game.
Neil's body language seems to say the opposite of what he says. He doesn't seem to react to anything other than pointing.
Naughty Dog's beloved property has been put into live-action and nominated for its greatness. But is the game better? Find out The Outerhaven's The Last Of Us Comparison!
The show was entertaining, but it missed its chance to really flesh out more of the characters. It felt too condensed as they tried to fit the entirety of the first game into one season. They should have stretched things out over two seasons before going into the 2nd game.
First alien overkill in gaming.
Now apocalyptic zombie survival games are popping out faster than ever.
Not saying that's what this is. I was hoping for something like penumbra. A new approach to gaming. I'm sick of 60 dollar games taking 9 hours to play. That's why I live skyrim, or AC even because atleast that has around 20 hours and there's freedom to mess around.
