The Most Disappointing Games of 2011

Console Domination writes: If you had a look at Console Domination's 2011 retrospective yesterday, you would know that there were a tonne of quality titles that managed to make their way to consoles this year. Unfortunately though, some of these titles were unable to capture the interest they were aiming for and either provided a decent experience that left a sour taste in our mouths or just flat out tanked. Whilst some of these titles are terrible, some are actually great games that could not live up to their own hype. So without further ado, here are our 10 most disappointing games of 2011.

uc3 should not be in this list or number 1 it should be capcom mvc3 and 1.2v And I feel sad for those who bought it lmao

As fun as UC3 is, I was a little disappointed in it, too. Granted, I don't really dig 3rd person multiplayer, so I'm only basing this story-wise. It just felt a little lacking compared to its predecessor. And that may only be because of the ending.

Definitely not as disappointing as other games, though. Rage made me sad, Duke Nukem was just bland, and L.A. Noire was interesting, but the fact that you always solved the case no matter much you sucked kinda turned me off.

mvc 2 was so fun I was hype about mv3 because of 2 but when the demo came out It was so wack and boring plus capcom was also helping the noob I lost faith in mvc3. Wait where is socom 4 at lol

SeraphimBlade4946d ago

Okay, I feel like the game that you "can't call a bad game" is NOT the most disappointing game of the year. You could call it over-rated, but it didn't crush people's childhoods the way Duke Nukem did.

It's as if they're being inflammatory simply to get attention. Who would do that? Especially on the internet.

I agree with you. Some of my top favorotes are on the list.. Uncharted 3, Dragon Age II, L.A. Noire, Bulletstorm, Duke Nukem Forever, Killzone 3, Homefront, Dead Island and Resistance 3. I'm finding more of my favorites on these 'dissapointing' lists than I'm finding on actual 'top gamea of 2011' lists..

yeah theres been like 3 or so list that have some of the best games of the year...if not game of the year.....but everybody has opinion even if its dumb

"Assassin's Creed: Revelations is so full of padding and so static that I couldn't play it for more than seven hours."

Credibility gone down the shitter.

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic215d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23215d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1215d ago (Edited 215d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger206d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.

Hopefully McNamara is as far away from this as possible he set up shop in Australia then did nothing but complain about Australian labour laws while trying to make his workers live at the office working 24/7 on la noire punishing them for leaving at 3 am and being 10 minutes late to work at 9am the next day.

It's astonishing that none of the workers went to the fair work ombudsman as the studio would have been fined astronomical numbers

Brendan McNamara is a brilliant writer and director but he should never, ever be in charge of a studio. What he did to those devs was far beyond "crunch", and it went on for, what, 7 years? That's insane.

But I'm glad to see some of that team have come together again to create something new. A psychological thriller sounds right up my alley.

I would have liked to see a new noir game.

I been enjoying LA noire my first time playing it the vibe is🔥
