The last three years have been great for the PS3, being bombarded by one exclusive after another. Great developers like Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac and Sucker Punch have given what is possibly their best work ever to the system. 2011, however, was probably the best year the PS3 has had so far. Right from the beginning of the year with the likes of LittleBigPlanet 2 and Killzone 2, till the end with Uncharted 3, with others like inFamous 2 seeing the light of the day as well, this year was a wet dream for all PS3 gamers
Sony CEO Hiroki Totoki and CFO Lin Tao talked about the state of the PlayStation business and the strategy and targets going forward, including how they're responding to the tariffs.
Sony announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2024, and things are certainly looking up, despite a decline in PS5 sales.
If their profits fall next quarter, we'll probably see more price hikes. I can't imagine having to pay £20 a month for PlayStation Plus.
Decline in hardware sales.
Behind on lifetime sales and decline in first party sales.
Third party content and PSN came through to save the day.
Things will improve starting with the next Ghost game.
Hopefully a steady flow of first party content by end of '25
PlayStation 5 has shipped 77.8 million units worldwide, Sony announced in its financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2025.
very nice.
in almost 5 years too.
some big hitters are yet to come
No mention of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Tales of Graces f, Yakuza: Dead Souls, MLB: The Show 2012, and Dust 514? The PS3 has quite a lot of exclusives once again in 2012
Im gonna get:
Ni no Kuni
Tales of Graces F
Sly 4: Thieves In Time
and then go from there and probably get more games lol
Cheers to another great year of gaming ahead of us. glad to own a ps3
Probably a couple of exclusives I'll want in the year. Mostly The Last Guardian, if it isn't vapourware.
Apart from that there's The Last of Us.
Besides that...um....
Well they have 5 retail games that will probably come in 2012, Twisted Metal, The Last Guardian (hopefully), Sly 4, StarHawk, and the Last of Us,( been in development by Naughty Dogs second team since 09, so it's not that crazy to think that a 2012 release couldn't happen). Then two PSN games that are looking really awesome, Dust 514 and Journey. Plus multiplats like Bioshock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and GTA 5 and 2012 is looking like a real good year. Which is pretty incredible seeing as how Sony released around 8 exclusives for the PS3 this year.
