Digitally Downloaded writes "So by now most of us have had a chance to properly digest The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s a good game, for certain, but the big question is: how does it stack up against the other games in Bethesda’s premier series?"
Virtuos is currently working on a multiplatform Unreal Engine 5 remake, which is rumored to be The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
I thought they’d go for Morrowind first to be honest but this is a welcoming surprise to tide us over before ES6
Unreal Engine isn't efficient for open world games, so I question the reliability of this story.
Hopefully modders can fix the aged combart in this game if this is true. Enemies leveling up with you broke and defeated the whole purpose of leveling up.
Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.
RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.
"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!
How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera
And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
I feel the author here isn't rating the games as much as how defining each one in the series is.
I feel few people could pick up one of the first three titles for the first time today.
You're fooling yourself if you think Morrowind is "much better" than Skyrim. Better? Maybe slightly. In my opinion it's Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion, Daggerfall and then Arena
Another wanderer here to lick Morrowind's boots. Good job!
I wish they could put Arena, Daggerfall, and Morrowind on one CD and resell the classics for PC, PS3, and 360. I doubt they would take too much space.
