Infinite Ammo's WWE '12 Review - Same Sh*t, Different Year

In the months leading up to WWE ’12, you may have heard or read the following words: “Innovative!” “New!” “Fresh!” “It’s the Bombdiggity!” (for gamers still stuck in the 90′s). And, like idiots, plenty of us took the bait and dove straight in. As much as WWE’12 touts itself for being fresh and new, this title feels completely the same.

Why don't people say this in their reviews about sports games and COD?

Jamzluminati4577d ago (Edited 4577d ago )

Biased and afraid they're gonna be black listed. At least the SD series does add and tweak stuff. What does CoD do? Re scan. What do the NFL games do? Update the roster which can be done via update. Throughout this generation the smackdown series has gona through minor overhauls.

Are Wrestling Games Getting Worse?

Some of you may know that the latest instalment in the WWE gaming franchise 2K20 was released late last year to generally poor reviews. Some of this was based on graphical issues, but mostly it was due to the many glitches and bugs found – many of which are hilarious to witness.

Fire Pro needs more love. The last PS4 title gets regular playtime from me.

I hear that there are financial troubles at the studio, but I'm hopeful for a Switch port one of these days.

Anyone remember Giant Gram Wrestling on the Dreamcast .....

Rambokind1617d ago

Ah hell yes! That was loads of fun.

Fire Pro just gets better. Buy it.

micdagoat191617d ago

I have Fire Pro for PS4 and PC but it seems more of like a Sim creator rather than people actually playing out matches. I still dont like anything as much as the N64 games

Golden Era of wrestling games in the Golden Era of wrestling. I've been contemplating going back and getting a N64 and getting those classic's
WWF Wrestlemania 2000
WWF No Mercy
WCW vs. nWo Revenge

micdagoat191613d ago

Yeah its the only wrestling games I still play consistently for fun.

TheTony3161617d ago

Yes. The last great wrestling game was svr 2006.

addictedtochaos1617d ago

Yes, the WWE ones at least. The last good one was 2K14 and the last great one was Here Comes the Pain.

6 Abominations Brought to Life by These Games' Character Creators

If Dr Frankenstein were alive today and also not fictional, he wouldn't need to faff around building a creature out of dead bodies then trudge around the Arctic trying to kill it - not when these videogame character creators exist. Just look at the unnatural horrors he could have cooked up in WWE '12, Spore, Saints Row 4, Soul Calibur 5, NBA 2K15 and The Sims 4.

Good comparison, they've got worse with age.

Thrillho3508d ago

Many of the old animations look better than the new ones especially the Sweet Chin Music and Goldberg's spear. The 2K14 Clothesline from Hell looks awesome though.
