The Last of Us Probably Isn’t a Quantic Dream Game

GR's DeShaun Zollicoffer writes:

"The marketing team behind The Last of Us deserves a pat on the back—the industry is buzzing. But the million-dollar question seems to be, who’s developing it? No one outside of Sony and the people behind the VGAs knows, but I think it’s safe to say it isn’t a Quantic Dream game, here’s why."

I didnt really consider quantic dream in the first place but this article doesnt really convince me that it isnt. quantic dream isn't really sony though.

Grip2920d ago

i really hope it's quantic dream bucz i want something refresh. not a shooter.. i really hope it's not Guerrilla Game

This gen, Quantic Dream is sticking exclusively with Sony. It could very much be something from them.

However, given the setting/scenario, I don't think Quantic is behind this.

Quantic still isn't Sony. Exclusive or not. they're a partner. partners in ice

BUT, this could still be a Quantic game, and the fact that they are working only with Sony this gen invalidates your point. Nobody argued whether Quantic was owned by Sony or not, but people aren't crazy to believe this could be a Quantic game.

Aren't people talking about the next sony game. Either they mean sony as publisher or no quantic dream.

On top of my head.

-Santa Monica
-Guerrila studios
-Kojima studios
-epic games

But it could even be someone like media molecule we will know saturday.

nepdyse2920d ago

I hope it isn't, couldn't get into heavy rain at all, I mean sure they were doing something unique/original but it didn't feel like a video game at all tbh.

The author brings up some fair points, but overall I think he's mistaken.

The texture style is very similar to that seen in Heavy Rain. Remember when David Cage said he wanted to make a war-shooter to bring the emotional storytelling to that genre? If he considered that for the next game (I believe they are working on 2 games), which would include lots of shooting and action, this concept is not an unrealistic one for Quantic Dream.

I hope I'm right, cause I haven't heard from QD since Heavy Rain and I loved that game. I want to see more from them!!!
