Trendy Gamers: I had various plans for today. Some were important, necessary things like paying rent or picking the kids up from somewhere. Glancing at the clock I realize it is too late for any of this as it informs me via harsh glow that the time is 2am. I’m pretty sure just a second ago it said 1pm. It occurs to me that I have entered the infamous Skyrim temporal time phase, the game itself acting as some sort of glorious time sponge.
Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.
RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.
