How Square Enix Can Win Their Fans Back: Ivalice Alliance Edition

Trendy Gamers: Last time in our new five part feature, we talked about how Square Enix can get fans back through the Final Fantasy series. This time we are going to talk about the Ivalice Alliance. Now before you correct me and tell me how the Ivalice Alliance is Final Fantasy, let me just tell you that isn’t quite the case. Here is how Square Enix can get it in gear and win back its fans!

By releasing FFvsXIII in early 2012 and start working with KH3(and show at least a teaser)

DA_SHREDDER4940d ago

I doubt they can do anything right after the abomination that was FF13, I don't even recognize them as a company anymore. They lost their edge.

dredgewalker4940d ago

Agreed, FF13 was an empty game for me and they also ruined Front Mission by making it a combat game.

TrendyGamers4940d ago

KH3 next year would be great!

PCRockStar4940d ago

Stop releasing crap would be a huge leap forward.

Soplox4940d ago

What are you saying that FFvsXIII and KH3 are crap
?? You know that those are the games that people are waiting for? Those are the games that keep giving hopes to the Square fans after the disaster they did with FFXIII and FFXIV. Those are the games that could make Square-Enix comeback.

Capt-FuzzyPants4940d ago

I was thinking one of these newly announced games could be set in Ivalice. I really want to see them do something with this world. Corruption in the Church is always a good storyline.

Square Enix never lost me. So excited for FF Type-0 and FF XIII-2. Not to mention releasing Tactics Ogre, Dissidia Duodecim, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, and a bunch of other games over the last year. Square is one of the only companies I wasn't disappointed with last year.

Capt-FuzzyPants4940d ago

Yea my only problems with these articles is that Square doesn't have to win me back.

Spenok4939d ago

I agree. Sure there have been some misses (Infinite Undiscovery) and some, ok, but not terrible games (Nier). But overall they havent become the terrible developer most people say they have. Sure, they could improve, but the amount of work and effort they have put into FFXIV since launch is staggering and easy testimony for how much they care about their fans. The game has done a 180 since launch and is only getting better. And i cant wait for 2.0 to launch.

Alos884940d ago

First off, cancel Theatrhythm, it looks garbage. Then cancel all of the RPGs you are intending "for a western audience", because that never works.
Finally, fire everyone that thought up Mindjack, and vow to never again half ass a game that badly.

Capt-FuzzyPants4940d ago

Interesting. I actually plan on picking up Theatrythm when its cheap.

Lord_Sloth4940d ago

By making a freaking JRPG and stop trying to westernize their gameplay!

It would be nice if they had the lottery in other parts of the world as well.

I’m hoping Xbox Showcase will be where the Remake gets announced… freaking all this stuff with FF9’s anniversary and still nothing on the Remake…

Why do we think this is coming out on Switch 2 before Xbox? Any thoughts? The S2 is not more powerful than the Series S so it’s not a ‘lack of power’ issue. Perhaps the sales forecast is higher on S2 than Xbox so that’s maybe where their priority lies?

jznrpg37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

It’s definitely a sales issue. If Xbox didn’t have players used to GamePass I bet it would be there already.

The fact people will buy it. Xbox gamers generally have minimal interest in this series. Portable Final Fantasy will go down a storm in Japan where the switch sells huge numbers

Hamaguchi states not just the remake but the entire FF7 remake series.

The Switch 2 version is really beautiful. It looked as good as the PS5 version.
