IGN - To the Moon is a challenging game to write about because the only real reason to play it is the story. I could go deeper into the plot, but spoiling it would be a great disservice to any potential players; suffice to say that the story is good enough to recommend this game despite its relatively weak gameplay. Playing through To the Moon was cathartic for me, not because I could identify with John’s specific lifetime experiences, but because the characters and their reactions – their emotional responses – all hit home with me. And I’d wager they’ll hit just about anyone, as To the Moon captures in six hours many of the difficulties and feelings of what it’s like to live with the memories of the great and terrible times in our own lives.
Alex DS. from Link Cable Gaming writes: "Sometimes we all need a good cry. And while a good book or touching movie can do the trick, there’s plenty of video games with emotional narratives and motifs out there that can help work through some complicated emotions or just experience a sad story."
How is metal gear solid 3 snake eater not on this list? I was sad for days with that ending.
Some games hit people hard. Which is a relief when people need to let emotions out. So settle in with these seven games.
