Why I hate Assassin's Creed (even though I want to love it)

BeefJack: "ASSASSIN’S CREED transports you into a historical world of deception, treachery, and fictional conspiracy. I love this world, the characters that inhabit it, and the narrative that weaves through its core. There’s just one problem – I don’t actually like any of the games..."

I love assassin's creed and want to hate it because I am strapped for cash.

... instead of picking up these games new and then being screwed over with Ubisoft nickel-and-diming you for DLC; you're better off just being a bit patient, waiting for a GOTY-release, and picking that up for 15 bucks NEW.

It's what I did with the brilliant AC2, and now I will probably pick up Brotherhood for 10-15 bucks, and next year I'll pick up Revelations GOTY/Classic for 10-15 bucks.

There is no GOTY edition in the US. Anyway, I wait out and pick them up a year later. Got AC2 for $20, and Brotherhood for $10. I was going to pick up AC:Revelation for $34 but I opt to get the Zelda 3DS Bundle.

I love AC games but I don't mind playing them a year later.

Thats a little long to wait. Im trying to wait until I see left over special editions on sale. Hopefully it possible. Any recent "Limited Edition" is usually stocked to the gills months after release. A good example is Killzone 3. I seen a cyber Monday deal for $30

I'm in the same boat as the author. I REALLY want to like it. But even though I get the games I just can't bring myself to finish to the game for some reason. It just doesn't hold my interest for more than a couple hours before I am ready to quit playing.

It sucks, because the story, art design, setting, and action is all top notch. But for whatever reason I just can't seem to force myself to play through the games. :/

I completed Assassin's Creed a number of times.

Assassin's Creed II, I got bored without even completing a quarter of the game.

Revelations, I have just started it and I can see myself playing through, all the way to the end.

The games aren't for everyone, that's a given.

Along with Uncharted 3 and Batman - I suggest try playing them all in 3D (if possible), it will add some wow to your experience.

I have neither finished an Assassins Creed game, yet whenever I think of the gameplay it seems so interesting to me.

There is something about it, that doesn't suit me, but I still want to play the game. Odd isn't it?

Same thing happens to me, damnit.

The games look awesome, I even watched my brother finish the 1st one, but when I try to play the games myself.. ugh, I don't know why I can't play for more than a few minutes, maybe half an hour at most =[
