Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand - Wake Island - Gameplay-Video

Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is coming this december and it features four new maps. Wake Island is one of them and here's an exclusive video showing some new gameplay. No embedding code available, sorry.

Looks more like the smallish-version from BF1943, rather than the one from BF2/1942 (unless my mind is tricking me and they were all the same size).

Either way I'm happy. It's the horseshoe layout of this map that has always made it awesome.

They already have... It releases in December. And you would think it would release before Christmas to create more hype for those who have not purchased the game yet.

And given that the PS3 gets it a week early, that would put that initial release somewhere the week of 12/11 at the very latest, assuming they want to go full release in the last few days before Christmas (week of 12/18).

Update: Did some digging. Sounds like it'll be either PS3 release on 11/30 (tomorrow?!), 360/PC on 12/7, or PS3 on 12/7, 360/PC on 12/14.

Although I am excited for these maps, the fact that this version of Wake Island has less capture points than even 1943 concerns me. I mean WTF DICE!?!?!

I counted 4 in the video. That's how many BF1943 had. One near each tip of the island, and then two more in the back corners.

@SuperDopetastic below: With that GPU, I wouldn't expect it to look any better than the PS3. Possibly worse. Looking at benchmarks, the 410M is roughly a mere 20% as powerful as most mainstream gaming GPUs. It's a bottleneck for sure.

BF1943 had 5. one on each horseshoe end, on across the bridge on the left, one at the lighthouse on the right, then the centre capture point with the air raid shelter. in the video itself i only see 3 blinking icons for flags captured so at the mo its lookin like 3 unless there's 2 versions

I believe it may be a different version. Played Caspian Border with 3 flags and 5 flags both on PC, is that the difference between "Conquest" and "Conquest Large" ? Someone else can clarify

question for PC junkies.I currently play BF3 on PS3 but i need a new laptop and with my budget I was able to order a laptop with this :

320GB (5400rpm) hard drive

Now,my question is will I be able to run BF3 on this laptop and how well will it run compared to the PS3 version graphics and performance wise.Thanks in advance

from that I would assume you could do Low settings and get a consistent 25-30 fps fine...

compared to PS3, no clue as i didnt buy a copy for my ps3 :/

you'll be able to run it but your gonna have to lower all the settings. From the looks of the video it looks like the console version.

DICE has said that the PC version on LOW is the same as the console version.

I say "not bad" for being able to play BF3 on the Go!
