TSA: Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends Review

TSA writes: "Since the series’ third iteration, Omega Force has followed up each game (bar Dynasty Warriors 6) with on-disc expansions, offering new modes and in-game features. Though a little bare-boned in the first two instalments to features these expansions, Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends could easily justify the additional expenditure, presenting players with a gallery of bonus missions, weapons, and items as well as the rather inventive Destiny Mode, allowing players to build there own character from scratch, starting your career as a lowly peon before gradually progressing through the ranks.
Given the six-year gap between 5XL and 7XL, we’d be right in expecting the add-on content to have made as much of a leap than the core games themselves, surely? Well apparently not."

I thought Capcom was bad with their Street Fighter but Koei really takes the crown trying to squeeze an ounce of orange juice of a cup of Sahara desert sand.

What idiots are buying these games. Obviously there are some morons that are actually buying these things. Are they employees and friends of the company?

I think it has something to do with the idiots that constant berate the series despite clearly not having any real familiarity with it.

Most musou fans just accept it without question when a new game comes out and negative reviews come out and it's blindingly obvious the reviewer never played the game at all, instead basing his or her impressions off of what "everyone knows every musou game is," or off a decade-old game because "everyone knows every musou game is exactly the same."

Musou games change and evolve just like every other long-running series, and have arguably evolved MORE than such franchises as Halo, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Starcraft, Age of Empires, God of War, Gears of War, Mario, Dragon Quest, etc., etc.

The only real sin musou games commit is that of overproliferation--and, perhaps, that is why the line can seem stagnant to some--but that's no excuse for speaking violently from a position of pure ignorance.

What idiots keep buying Call of Duty games? What idiots keep buying Zelda games since neither franchise changes?

Honestly Koei listens to it's fans and gives 'em what they ask for. We asked for a change in the series so they gave us 6 and we decided they didn't like and and wanted the old style back and so they obeyed! Koei is 1 of the ONLY companies that actually listens so STFU.

What idiot gave this a 5/10 instead of at the very least a 6.5 or a 7? Personally I'd give it an 8 as I've loved the series even back on the PS1!

Who buys any franchise? The fans, you dolt!

If you follow this game you know what you're getting into. I never buy the first few games and just wait for the empires version because that's the one I enjoy most. The only one I was ever really disappointed in was DW6 where they simply reused everyone's weapon attacks. usually every character is a bit different and makes it a fun and mindless beat em up.
