Nintendo Okie Review: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

According to the reviewer: "Despite the flaws that the game has it’s still one of the best Zelda experiences I’ve ever had and easily one of the best games to ever grace the Wii library. It’s hard to say whether this is truly the best Zelda game to date, because it’s so fresh in my mind, but I don’t think it would be hard to give it that label."

Im not too sure about this game.. It is solid, dont get me wrong, but its underwhelming.

It doesn't have that special feeling that i got with other zelda's.

It is very reminiscent or a mario game :l it seems they have simplified everything about this game, to the point where its hardly about exploration, or talking with the games character, and more about jumping from platform to platform :l

the graphics are not as good as those shown in the adverts :l and even in the adverts they aren't very good. Sometimes i think they look ok, whilst other times they look very out dated. Then again, the last game i played was uncharted 3 :l I remember nintendo saying they wanted this to be the most impressive game graphically on the wii. They didn't achieve that. Xenoblade looks 77 times better.

The game feels empty. there is no atmosphere, it just feels barren. The game game is also very linear, the environments are not natural at all, but rather deliberately set out to work with the puzzles.

as another review pointed out, the game is formulaic, so you know whats coming next, there are no surprises.

This is a really good game, would advise people to buy it, both those who have a wii or are planning/thinking of getting one
