DSOGaming writes: "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat MISERY is a mod that promises to overhaul GSC’s first-person shooter. This mod comes with custom textures, a weather system, new sound effects, new difficulty settings, improved AI, reskinned weapons, new items and interface, as well as new menus and loading screens. In other words, this mod is touching and tweaking almost every aspect of the game."
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is about to launch and we've noticed player counts for the original trilogy spiking in anticipation.
GF365: "Let's take a look at some of the best fan-made graphics mods that vastly improve the look and feel of older games. The games that I've included in this list are mostly older titles that really need visual improvements."
Popularized by Doom in 1993 and still making video game haters gnash their teeth today, first-person shooter games are the best thing to happen to gamers since pizza rolls. So here are 15 underrated first-person shooter games you may have missed.
Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.
Lol
All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.
XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games
I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games
STALKER is my favorite series and I play Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat all the time.
If your gonna play the STALKER series with a mod these are the two best mods:
1. The "Complete" Mods; greatly improves the graphics and A.I. of the STALKER games without changing the game play or mechanics
2. The "Reloaded" Mods; improves graphics and A.I. with very minor game play and mechanics changes to all STALKER games.
If you have never played STALKER then buy it, patch it, then install the Complete mod if your PC has the Balls to run it. The Reloaded mods are cool for a replay after the Vanilla version or Complete mod.
From what I've gathered the Misery Mod is similar to the Complete mod but makes the weather even more miserable than The Zone already is. Also the Misery mod seems to take some of the best Textures from other mods and stuffs them into the Misery mod.
But beware your PC better be super modern and have STALKER installed on a SSD to lower loading times cause the graphics will be pumped up to "Almost Crysis" levels with an additional 2.5GB worth of textures.
That's why i suggest the Complete mod cause it provides Ultra graphics while optimizing the engine for ease of use, high textures, and manageable loading times even on HDD.
I will be installing the Misery Mod upon it's completion to check it out and keep my Zone fixation in check until STALKER 2 in 2012.
