RipTen Review: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

RipTen - There comes a time in a gamer’s life when he or she must sit down and tell themselves that enough is enough. We finally reached that point today after spending an extensive amount of time with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Truth is, we wanted to enjoy this game. We wanted to have that feeling that those millions gamers have while playing the Call of Duty franchise, the same feeling we “used” to have, but enough is enough.

Check out how different the comment section is for both reviews. Imagine the result of someone like Baliw trolling the Uncharted 3 review writing stuff like "low score = reality" or "uc3 = uc2 with new skin"...

Spec Ops seems to really be what made the game. That in itself is pretty fun. Agree with the review though, the rest of the game is kinda... eh. Not bad, just eh.

I don't know exacly why, but the Multiplayer have saved my entire Winter. It's so incredibly fast paced and funny. Even though the graphics are just slightly improved, the pace and action packed MP just puts so much joy into playing.

Why would they when the "Major" sites treat it like a fresh new game? A few bad scores here and there still seems pretty out of place considering how recycled the game truly is.

All these multiplayer focused developers need to go back to the drawing board & develop an awesome single player experience instead of focusing so heavily on the online aspect that for me & many others is an awesome SIDE DISH to the main course (many gamers also see it the other way around), but for me, console games is my thing, & console games started off as single player experiences, or multplayer where one console, 4 controllers & a single tv & copy of a game was the experience.

Most games seem to be cutting down, or copy & pasting, or just plain not putting F-All effort into the single player campaign, as COD has been slowly doing over it's many iterations this gen... I play for single player mostly, then when I'm finished with that, or often when I feel like a mindless blast-a-thon, I can dive into great online play.

But fact remains that I am very much in need of awesome, compelling & quality & quantity offline, single player campaign experiences, & I always will be.
I fired up Black Op's the other day, & while it is an awesome game experience & I do love it, I really need no reason to buy another one, especially one that has important features cut for my experience, like no 3D, & bots to fill online available spaces, (all which Black Op's does in fact come with, as a standard).

If Treyarch does enough with the next one, will probably get it...But IW/Sledgehammers efforts this time, has fallen short of my attention.

I know i hate this game and all but this game deseves a 8/10 in all honesty. It has alot of features and can keep you occupied for hours.

Doesn't matter if all those features are crappy. Look at GTA IV. It had tons of features like watching TV, going to a comedy club, etc. Yeah, BORING.

I bought MW3 and I agree with this score. MW3 is good, not great, not many improvements to justify a perfect score. I applaud you ripten for having the huevos to give MW3 what it really deserves.

A good score for a good game, not the best of games but still a great one that kills off the hours
