Top 10 Settings We Want for the Next Assassin's Creed

From the PlanetXbox360.com feature top 10 list:

"The Assassin's Creed franchise has spanned some pretty interesting and picturesque locales and time periods. Now that Ubisoft is officially done with the stories of Ezio and Altair, there's no reason to doubt that the third proper installment in the franchise will take Desmond and/or another ancestor to a completely new setting. The latest game, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, ties up the entire storyline by letting you control both Ezio and Altair, the most recent AC game released just days ago; the entire Assassin's Creed franchise is one of our favorite series across the entire lifecycle of the Xbox 360, so to say we are excited about where Ubisoft is heading next would be a massive understatement. So without further ado, here are our ten favorite settings for the next Assassin's Creed video game."

World War 2 or the Civil War era would be fantastic, also the future - like some space Assassin's Creed action...

SoulramonNL4956d ago

Looks like a good idea for me. Killing nazi's in assassin's style. Original and fun if you ask me!

Laxman4955d ago

I would really like WWII/Civil War ear (Sabetour demonstrated it has potential), but Space Assassins Creed is a terrible idea...

DonaldBeck4956d ago

a story in egypt would be nice.

Led-Zeppelin4956d ago

How would running and climbing around huts be fun? There wasn't any buildings higher then a single floor other then royal emperor structures 5000 years ago. Yes the ancient egypt vibe is cool. But when you really think of how their civilization was organized back then, it wouldn't be fit for Assassins Creed, where 50% of the time your climbing and jumping.

modesign4955d ago

wow, i can tell you dont know your ancient egyptian architecture.

iamnsuperman4956d ago (Edited 4956d ago )

I really do not like a lot of these locations. For me the only one interesting is present day (to develop Desmond into a character)and Biblical times (because "The Assassin's Creed franchise hasn't been afraid to incorporate religion into the over-arching story") The rest seem to random for a finale in the series

modesign4955d ago

another game set in NYC; how original.lol

biblical times would be boring, who do you assasinate, jesus, his apostles,

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno103d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack103d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

PrecursorOrb103d ago

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey602103d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

Profchaos103d ago

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno103d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic103d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS103d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos103d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?

assassin's creed new york starring luigi as the adjuster taking out bad guys health insurance templars

sweatyrich163d ago

Making a "d-ling" sound when you assassinate?

XBManiac163d ago

2 or 3 store buildings... well... they'd need some cities.
