Reflecting on 10 Years of GameCube - Craig Harris and Doug Perry Weigh-in

GameXplain.com writes, "From the golden days of the NES to the current experimental period of the Wii, no other Nintendo console has been as consistently or resoundingly controversial as the GameCube. The big N’s fourth outing, it was a system that was poised to dominate like no other – a potentiality which turned to ash within only a few years’ time. "

... but it certainly has a bunch of games that were great.

Sucha shame that Nintendo decided that the WiiU won't be backwards compatible with Cube games. Probably so they can sell those games again through downloads. :(

Oh well, thank gawd for Dolphin.

rogue leader running on a kay bee toy store monitor I knew i had to have one. Factor 5 made great star wars games.

I may not play the cube but i do play the games via the wii and a couple of wavebird controllers. Just recently got back in mario sunshine and resident evil 4.

The cube had some great games and some not so great games. Then again, it comes with every console. You got to have the good with the bad.

Best feature of the cube: Gameboy player. Much better than the one for the SNES and it really made playing the GBA games on tv worth it.

Worst feature of the cube: modem/network adapter. Nothing really used it unless you were into ripping games to a pc.

Best memory playing the cube: flying through the deathstar in rogue leader.

Worst memory: suffering a seizure from playing fzeroGX and waking up in the hospital. It really freaked my wife and son out (he was 5 at the time).

I can honestly say to this day I have not played that game since. No joke!

Smash Bros Melee (the best one), Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life, RE4, Ikaruga, F Zero GX, Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4, a bunch of really good games were on the Gamecube. I liked the selection of Gamecube titles far more than Xbox or PS2 overall.

Loved the machine! Cant believe it has been 10 years. I remember I got a promotional DVD for the machine when I went into the shop and just couldn't wait for it!
