The ganme deals are lacking compared to what other retailers are offering.

Dee_914332d ago

Yea I think Best buy deals are better
But I am getting Driver San Francisco for $19.99
So thats $80 on videos games ( including my list from best buy minus madden 12 )
Thats a $100 savings !!

Game4life4332d ago

some of these aren't that bad but bestbuy by far has the bets ones so far. I think i will still get most of the stuff from gamestop though since I just want A.C. Rev. from bestbuy.

whats sad is that game in my target went on a temporary price cut for 20 for like a month.

gaffyh4331d ago

I want to see Amazon's deals.

Hicken4332d ago

It's cuz they don't care. GameStop is no longer a place for gamers to go. It's for casuals who don't know any better. Gamer-centric GameStops are few and far between now. Maybe a hundred out of 4300 stores.

Game4life4332d ago

i guess im no really gamer then because i go to Gamestop huh? Relax It's just a store. if you don't like them, Don't go there. They aren';t forcing you.

Hicken4332d ago

I'm speaking as an employee, just so you know. THEY. DON'T. CARE. ABOUT. GAMERS.

That's why it's no longer a place for gamers to go. They're about milking every last penny possible out of a customer. Think about it: they think it's a good deal to give you $30 in store credit for Gears 3, and it hasn't been out a month. Years ago, they'd be giving you $40+ for it. Hell, the 30 isn't even what you actually get, but $3 more than what the set price was before the game even came out. Same case with Skyrim and everything else.

Like Microsoft, Activision and Capcom, GameStop has forgotten the crowd of consumers that allowed them to be so popular. They're in it for the money only. Gaming went mainstream, and everybody- particularly the companies mentioned above- jumped on that chance to grab that casual cash.

So don't expect great deals out of GameStop. They'll be mediocre, at best.

As an employee I have to agree with you about them not caring about the customers as much, but in the end you can't blame just Gamestop and there are ways to get more than 30 dollars for your games. Also when you look at it, it's like you're only paying 30 dollars for your next game if you get back half of what you paid. Other times you don't get that and I remember last year the only game that got that or more was Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Most stores now have 50 percent trade in bonuses, you can get close to 40 dollars with each one of those games that recently came out including Gears and batman. I'm an employee that is a gamer and I look out for my fellow gamers. There are so many bonuses and most of them stack or gain you more money if used correctly. Also remember the Pro card, if you have one.

As for the Black Friday sales, there are some good ones.

The PS3 for 200 and the 4GB Xbox (I already have the kinect from my old white Xbox), that could be the reason why my Gamestop has been getting a load of them every day. That just means when I go to one of those other stores to do my Black Friday shopping that is two consoles I don't have to worry about.

As for that 250GB console you are better off getting it now that you get a 60 dollar gift card or the 4GB W/ kinect with a 100 dollar gift card.

I can pick up a second PS3 controller for 35 dollars, I don't think I saw that anywhere else.

In the end I will spend 350-400 at gamestop and 200 plus at the other stores and yes, being an employee mean I can shop at other stores and not worrying about what I want being sold to other people. Just keeping it real.

There is some truth to what you say, but Gamestop has great deals a couple times during the year. If it wasn't for that 50% off all Move accessories, I might have never taken the the plunge. VERY happy I did.

Overall, Amazon's Cyber Monday deals offer the BEST deals out there during Black Friday/Cyber Monday...but Gamestop isn't as bad as you make it seem. I honestly don't care whether its "a place for gamers" or not as long as I'm getting a fantastic deal.

Poopface the 2nd4332d ago

who cares, no other store gives two craps about gamers or their customers either.

I just dont like going to gamestop much because Im sick of them asking me 5 additional questions every time I buy something. 1 or 2 is bad enough but 4-5 makes me almost want to tell them to shut the F@ck up.

I understand its their job and they have to, but its crappy of the company to make them do such a thing.

Best buy has the best gamer rewards if you are in the gamer club that is part of the reward zone. The gamestop powerup rewards is completely useless and I hate walmart and target because I have to go find someone to get the games.

Amazon has the best regular prices, and best pre-order credit if you like to order online.

I usually just go to best buy because noone askes me 4-5 extra questions, I dont have to find people to get the games I want, and I get pretty good rewards(points) as a member of the gamers club in the reward zone program. I also go there alot because I have a best buy credit card that lets me buy things when I probably shouldnt, although thats not exactly a good thing LOL.

I was on board with you til you dropped Capcom in the mix. They basically revived the fighting game scene. Not to mention they are busy pumping out fighting games... Asked for by the fans.

Yeah best buy and walmart have better deals then this. It sucks that Gamestop does not do price matching. $35 for Sony controllers are not bad. But I can go to walmart and price match or best buy :-D

the only thing that interests me is split second ad buy 2 get one free. Everything else I can get cheaper at other stores or amazon

ABizzel14332d ago

Buy 2 get one free is ok, but if you live by a Hastings or go to gohastings.com you can get buy 1 get 1 free on all used games and accessories and they're generally $10 - $15 cheaper than Gamestop to boot. Best game sale ever.

I have no reason to go to Gamestop unless I want to trade some stuff in or to upgrade to Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition.

Best Buy, Wal-mart, and Hastings have the best deals this Black Friday. I'm just waiting for amazon.com and another local store ad.

Brownghost4332d ago

I live in California and there Isnt a Hastings near me, I buy stuff from Hastings online but and wish there was a Hastings and frys in my town

ABizzel14332d ago

That sucks, I live in North Cal, but I'm visiting my family in my hometown.

Brownghost4332d ago

lucky you, so which state are you visiting

ABizzel14331d ago (Edited 4331d ago )

cochise3134332d ago

best buy has the best deals so far

Brownghost4332d ago (Edited 4332d ago )

Walmart has the best deals on video games

Gam3rSinceBiRTH4332d ago

I haven't seen the deals for Walmart

Poopface the 2nd4332d ago (Edited 4332d ago )

Ive been to best buy on black friday 4 years ago to get my TV for cheap and it wasnt that bad. I think walmart might be crazy on black friday tho, especially depending on where you live. MIne here probably isnt that bad, but the one I used to live by Orlando would be like a warzone I think.
