Elder Scrolls V: How to Prepare for Skyrim

MMGN: You’ve got less than 48 hours to prepare for the event of a lifetime: 11.11.11 – it won't happen again until we’re long dead. Of course, there will be no time to acknowledge such symmetry when the clock ticks 11:11 AM, as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will have been released for 11 hours and 11 minutes by then (these are really starting to stack up).

With no time to waste, the next two days must be spent preparing yourself to enter the world of Skyrim and leave real life behind, momentarily.

Seems more of a comical article than an actual article, I was really serious about preparing my computer for Skyrim and was looking for tips, when I went to this article, it was all just a joke.

Well in all seriousness what do you think could help you prepare? Just wait, install, play? New drivers maybe?

"Occupy your partner: You’re lucky if you’re a woman; just tell your husband he can do whatever he wants for the weekend. You won’t see him until Monday."

Hahaha! So true. My husband knows I'll be occupied from Friday-Sunday and I told him to make his own plans and he's happy with that. The nice thing is that he's actually planned some time to spend with our daughter; bonus.

Yup, I requested Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off from work for this. I think I'll also prepare some sort of giant crock-pot meal to last me through the weekend. I think I'm ready.

I'll have plenty of time to play in the wee hours of the morning while I should be sleeping...

lol he seemed like he was preparing for a fucking apocolypse. those tips were way too nerdy for my liking, i mean yes i would memorize the map but not before i get the bloody game. and why would i need to stock food?

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast20d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22920d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko20d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
