How Modern Warfare 3 Has Surpassed MW2's "No Russian" scene, and was it required?

Despite widespread criticism Infinity Ward had to face for including the controversial level titled “No Russian” in Modern Warfare 2, which gave you an option of shooting down a crowd of civilians in an airport or play spectator to the carnage as your fellow terrorists did it, Modern Warfare 3 seems to contain a even more controversial sequence which is just terrible.

I think this was a concious decision by IW in order to stir up controversy for their title.

I for one love it. Consider me one of the people that can play a video game with a scene like that, and or watch a movie that has something like that or worse in it, and I can walk away from it afterwards knowing it's all make believe and just a game/movie.

I don't know. Call me not crazy.

Obviously. And of course it will work, and of course idiots will come out of the woodwork to defend them.

I shouldn't have watched that. That's kind of retarded. Oh well, whatever gets you into the media spotlight I guess.

IT'S A VIDEO GAME, you know...those things you play to get away from reality.

So what controversy isn't always a bad thing. How bad did you HONESTLY feel when you were mowing down civilians in MW2? Really..

I think people are getting too touchy about this. They're just trying to bring a sense of realism to the game. They are just saying "yes, in war, as much as we hate it, there are casualties that include women and children."
