All things considered, box art is really the final barrier between a consumer and a game. For the most part publishers get it right, or near enough. At the very least, things are a lot better than they used to be. Everybody's seen this one; it's generally regarded as the worst video game box art of all time.

Big deal the main character isn't on box art; especially using the 007 game as an example. It's not great artwork, but it's not bad.
The wholesale games are also, while terrible terrible excuses for games, not exactly box art sin. Rather than note the box art component, they should be regarded as a whole; absolutely #$%^ games. On that note I have a confession... I have scratched every Phoenix game I have ever seen. They deserve nothing less.
