EA Says Battlefield Single Player Essential Part of Franchise

EA execs say Battlefield 3's single-player campaign is a great way for new players to learn the ropes for multiplayer. But is that the case?

I would prefer if Mirrors Edge 2 had a male protagonist. Or at least a more exciting lead female. Faith ruined the game for me. And yes, I know a lot of people absolutely love to play as female characters, but I am not one of them.

I think BF3's campaign was the best so far, they just have to work on their story and characters. Voice acting was top notch though.

Voice acting doens't make a good campaign.
To be honest, COD campaigns are better, not saying they are great either.

I'd have to disagree about the CoD campaigns.They just make you feel like the only soldier in the world that can do it.Yet you have 100 others around but yet only you can shoot the guys and do everything else.

Have you played Battlefield 3's campaign because that's essentially what you described. Waiting for AI to open doors to progress forward is the most stupid think I've seen yet in a campaign. At least Call of Duty does much better and much more exciting set pieces.

So far (IMHO), the BF3 campaign has felt lack luster really, but I havent played too much of it yet.. I just think it's shooters in general that have felt that way (MW2, Blops, KZ3 and etc.), while I enjoy them enjoy enough to complete them, i'm left feeling nothing after completing them (like WOW thats was awesome or anything), but the online has me addicted! I never got into the Bad Company Battlefields, but this has me hooked. I really do think the multiplayer portion is essentially the reason anyone should buy this game.

I'm having way more fun playing the BF3 single player than MW2 and Black Ops campaigns. Those were total crap.

Black Ops yes, the entire story and game structure was utter crap, but I quite enjoy the MW series single players. Only real reason im going to be picking up MW3.

One friend can't connect so he traded it in already. Another friend told me the game keeps telling him his player data is corrupt.

BF3 had 3 betas there is no excuse for this.

EA is cheap on servers and the game is unpolished, unbalanced, broken, and rushed.

That makes as much sense as saying Uncharted 2's multiplayer is an essential part of the game because it trains and prepares you for the single player experience.

Battlefield3 needs BOTS!
They should have ditched the whole scripted SP campaign and instead made amazing smart AI bots and then set up scenarios using multiplayer maps where you had to complete tasks with the goal of teaching you how to use each class and vehicles and value of teamwork.

Dice should have allowed you to hook up with friends and fill in the gaps with bots so you have the option to have private games. This would have been great for learning how to play and perfecting teamwork.

Dice should just stop with this saying this nonsense because it just makes it look worse and its embarrasing. We all know its bull pigeon crap. Battlefield3 is a great fun multiplayer game. SP portion not so much.

Then the 'execs' haven't played it because the single player in BF3 is one of the most boring rip offs of other games I have ever played. If your going to copy others at least make it exciting and fun.

SP wins game of the year. Not multi player's. Lets see multi player... Laggy players with red bar singles, lag switchers, laggy servers, glitches and glitchers, exploiters, boosters, aimbots and team killers. Sounds like a great deal of fun to me.
