Xbox 360 Games Excel In UK Sales Chart

Xbox 360 software has enjoyed one of its best weeks of sales since its launch in the UK this week, with three exclusive titles in the top five. The second new Xbox 360 number one in as many weeks is Capcom's Dead Rising – the company's first number one in the UK for five years. The title has become the fastest selling Xbox 360 to date in the UK, beating both Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and last week's Saints Row.

Maybe they decided they are tired of waiting.

I'm in the UK and i am happy to wait. Wait is what i do. Wait, wait wait....for the best. America may get everything first, but it gets the early buggy versions. No thank you, the UK is happy to keep on waiting!

its true that you guys in the UK do get the less buggy versions of games most of the time. to bad i live in the states so i get to play everything as rough as they can get sometimes. but patience is key my friend. the games coming out now keep getting better and better. so ill keep on waiting too even though my wait is usually much shorter than yours.

But actually it makes again pretty clear 360 owners spend money on their format:

TW LW Title Publisher Formats Weeks
1 NE Dead Rising Capcom 360 1
2 1 Saints Row THQ 360 2
3 NE Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Activision All Formats 1
4 NE Test Drive Unlimited Atari 360 1
5 2 Cars THQ PS2/Xb/GC/PC/GBA/DS/PSP 9
6 5 The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff EA PC 2
7 3 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Rockstar PS2/PSP 44
8 4 New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo DS 11
9 6 The Sims 2 EA PS2/Xb/GC/PC/GBA/DS/PSP 96
10 7 Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? Nintendo DS 14

Three exclusive 360 titles in the top 5 and one other is multiformat also available on 360.

After GRAW, COD2 and other games which had an attach rate of over 20% on all 360 users, something that has never been seen on any other format, not at PS2 not any other.

Gameproducers see what 360 does, this will pay off in new titles for sure

Is there any reason in Microsoft/gamemakers making the UK wait a month for a game to come out thats alread avaiable in the UK. What is Microsoft/gamemakers going to gain from this??
if anyone really knows why i'd like to know because in my opinion its just stupid :(

In Europe the EU have to approve the game, which takes time. There is no point having the entire world wait until it's approved so they release it in areas where they are approved first. Also different countries get different versions of the game, in europe dead rising is uncensored and therefore that version took sometime to make and then it had to goto EU to get approved.
