We Sing UK hits is the latest game in the series of “We” titles from Nordic Games. Just as the title suggests the game requires a microphone and you use those beautiful (or not so beautiful) vocals and sing along to your favourite UK tracks varying from Gabrielle to the internet’s favourite troll, Rick Astley but does We Sing UK hits wow the nation or is this part of the British experience better forgotten?
Nordic Games has revealed that their series of Wii karaoke titles have surpassed a million units worldwide. The series consists of We Sing, We Sing Encore, We Sing Robbie Williams, We Sing UK Hits and We Sing Rock! in the UK and two more regional specific versions: We Sing Down Under and We Sing Deutsche Hits.
For a long time other platforms like the PlayStation 3 had Singstar and Lips on Xbox 360. While the Nintendo Wii had some rhythm games it never really had any major singing titles like the other platforms. With Nintendo seemingly uninterested in doing the honours, it was up to Nordic Games to fill the void. It all started when the publisher released We Sing in 2009. Out of nowhere We Sing took the casual market that favoured the Nintendo Wii by surprise and went on to be a major success.
Overall We Sing: UK Hits is a great singing game with a strong selection of pop songs. The game comes bundled with two Logitech mics or you can buy it without if you already own some. If you're in the market for a new singing game for Wii then this is one of the best around. If you also own an Xbox 360 or PS3 then you should consider similar titles on those platforms too. The game is definitely most fun with friends but may have short appeal with no downloadable content to add new songs.
