Different kinds of horror but I will agree with you that I like the subliminal horror Silent Hill offers. Resident Evil is more of the "in your face" type of horror while Silent Hill dives more into the psyche of humans.

Resident evil was the first horror game i ever played.
I loved it,still love resi apart from 4 and 5.
Then i played silent hill though and the horror was taken up about 1000 notches! there for im gonna go with silent hill!

I can't compare the two (I'm judging both by their original gameplay excluding RE 4 and beyond). Resident Evil focus a lot more on survival which generated tons of raw tension for me like seeing Predator, Terminator or The Thing in cinemas a while back. Silent Hill took things way more cerebral and gave me a different type of scare generated by isolation and hopelessness. Another plus is it's easier to relate to the protagonist seeing that she/he is am average joe like you.

It's like comparing Final Fantasy and Demon Souls which I just can't decide......

Fantastic homage to a memorable part of the original. The authenticity to the source material is outstanding and blows away all of the pathetic Hollywood adaptations that we've had to endure as fans. The addition of Chris Redfield's original actor AND (separate) voice actor is fantastic! Heck, even the CGI was pretty good given the total budget of $55k to make this.

Yeah this seemed so much more like cannon to me. I’d watch more of it if / when it’s available.

I feel like they should have included the original games with the remakes they've been doing.
