Blizzard Announces Unnamed DOTA Title

If you needed any more confirmation that the MOBA genre is hot, then look no further as Blizzard has announced they are working on new, currently unnamed DoTA title. You would think that blizzard would approach this seriously, seeing as many consumers would be interested in their take on the Moba scene, even if their only claim was being the platform used by the original modders of DOTA.

Guess Riot and Valve can sleep soundly at night after seeing this. Blizzard doesn't just quite grasp the concept of games-as-service, and is content treading water with WoW.

Activision (not blizzard) moba game = fail.

I'll stick to LoL and HoN because I honestly can't see a different moba game improving on them much. TBH they should build it directly into WoW as a different type of BG because that game needs some actual end game content.

I've been waiting to hear more about this, sadly it is a bit disappointing. I think they need to make it different from the current moba games, as those don't tend to attract more then their core audience. There's always room for improvement and bizz is the company to do it. Sadly they don't seem to be taking it very seriously.

Recycling their current heroes seems a bit lame, plus I didnt see anything from diablo, just wc and sc. The whole red vs blue seems a bit lame too, they should have gone good vs evil. Still I'll give it time, lords knows despite saying its coming soon, it wont be out till Christmas 2012 at the earliest.
