Need for Speed: The Run – Frostbite 2.0 Shows its Muscle

Velocity Gamer: Need for Speed has sure made its comeback in recent times. From Shift to the Hot Pursuit reboot, Need for Speed is reminding me why I love the series. Need for Speed: The Run only adds to that love and impresses me in every way a racing game can. Heck, I don’t even know if I should call Need for Speed: The Run a true racing game anymore. More like Action Adventure

Really? I have read a few comments on gaming forums of people saying that the graphics on the demo look rubbish

waltyftm3567d ago

That's because they are.

I thought they looked great! Not sure what was rubbish about them?

I didn't like the demo. Especially resetting the car. It didn't even wait for me to crash a couple of times.

Didn't know it is running on frostbite 2.0, since it looked like crap in the demo (according to you guys)does it mean they did what DICE did to the BC3 beta?

Hockeydud193567d ago

Watch the video above and tell me it looks like crap. It looks really good imo.

if you mean the gameplay looks like crap, then you're not wrong. But if you meant the graphics, then you are blind.

i wasn't claiming anything on my own, only what was said in the above comments.

Read the brackets.

I have the demo on the PS3 but I've yet to install it.

The Run graphics look OK. I just got done playing, it but the graphics are really nothing special. The textures suffer the same fate Medal of Honors campaign did.

I'm pretty sure this is an old build though as well. This was the same footage that they released through press releases months ago. NFS Hot Pursuit's demo also lacked, but the final product looked great. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
