In a move that makes him the clear contender for dad of the year a dad in America has sent a note to school to excuse his daughter from a massively boring Remembrance Day assembly as she’s required at home for something massively important.

OK so the father has made a decision for his daughter to miss the Remembrance Day assembly. But once the dad makes an excuse he should make it a good one. He says his daughter will be playing Skyrim, but the game is not even out yet!

What if the teacher is a gamer? Then the teacher will know that the dad is both a bad father and a bad liar!

@wobblyonion. Thanks for the info but It wasn't in the Lazygamer article. Its a bit much to read the article on the N4g front page, then come to this page, then follow the link to Lazygamer, then check their source with ResEdit?! The moral of the story is I just won't click out on their articles anymore.

Oh please, this is 99.9% likely to be fake. It's easy to say "I'm a teacher, look at this video game absence excuse!" on the internet. Then fanboys are all like "WOAH COOL ______ is just THAT awesome of a game!", they spread it around on forums, and you get a lot of attention. Or another motive, getting a game more hype.

Frankly, since it already happened with Portal 2, it's probably 10x more likely fake this time, since the idea has been put into people's heads.

Except that it says right there Remembrance Day, which is November 11th. You have no excuse not to know that unless you aren't American.

Even if this is a true letter, at least from my former schools point of view, this wouldn't be a excused absence and if you didn't show up for class you would get 0's for the days you missed, and possibly flunk depending on how many days missed.

In the High school I graduated from when we registered for classes both parents, and students had to read the hand book, and knew what was an excused and unexcused absences. They would treat this as a skip day.
