I hope new console from Sony and Microsoft are on the way. PS3 and 360 are dated. It would be nice to see new console announcements at E3 next year. I don't see new console coming out next year, but one can hope.

I'd hope that they aren't being forced to release new consoles. When they release their next systems I hope it'd be at a time where they are comfortable releasing it. The last thing I would want is a rushed console. If you thought rushed games are bad I bet you wouldn't want to see a rushed console.

Well that gos without saying. All I meant was It would be nice to see new consoles coming. I don't want another RROD console. Well only time will tell.

It's been 5 years...
Consoles are not that complicated.

I'm fine with my PS3 for another year or two. Payday: The Heist just came out on PS3, and it just goes to show that good games are still coming out on consoles, and that we don't need consoles to produce high end PC graphics in order to have a good time. As long as Sony's devs keep maximizing the PS3 like Naughty Dog and Sony Santi Monica do, I'll always be a happy camper. As far as I'm concerned, the PS Vita is Sony's next console, and I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Sarcasm3571d ago

If a new console comes out, I'd buy it but I sure wish they keep backwards compatibility with the current gen consoles. That way I can still sell the PS3/360 for a decent value while still be able to play all the games I currently own.

If it doesn't have B/C, then I'll probably wait for awhile to upgrade.

What can a new console offer us more than a minor update in graphics though? If you want to continually have the best graphics around you get a PC so you can upgrade your parts at a fee. Do you want to be paying $500+ for something that is a minor leap in graphics alone? I don't see Sony or Microsoft bringing enough innovation to warrant a new release right now.

SOD_Delta3571d ago (Edited 3571d ago )

It's not just graphics. Memory is a major issue. especially with PS3 with XMB being a memory hog. New console doesn't just mean "better graphics". I want to see new futures that aren't present this Gen. BTW it's not just a "minor update". I want games to run @ 60FPS (standard) 1080p. Trust me it makes a difference.

I do see where you are coming from and I know lots of people aren't willing to shell out 500$ for that. So I doubt they will be coming anytime soon.

What will happen though is (like Microsoft and Sony have done to the Wii by releasing their own motion peripherals), the Wii U will eat into both their markets.

The Wii U is a stopgap system. Stop trying to hype it up as next gen when it's this gen.5. And iPad? We're going there again with this stuff? Give it a rest already.

negroguy3571d ago

I highly doubt it. They will both take their time and learned a few things of what not to do and i'm sure no one wants another RROD incident.
