The Nintendo 3DS sixth months on

I think this is probably an indicator of your original purchasing decision and expectations, not the device itself. Why is it that a gamer's own decisions never factor into discussions about dissatisfaction of a system? Could it be that we're sometimes not willing to admit that we made a decision without thought of our own habits and desires?

I refuse to tolerate this "its the company's fault" attitude to systems. Its bullshit. The reality is that no one knows your gaming habits and expectations better than you and you had access to a ton of information out of the gate. If you aren't enjoying the system, its your own fault. If you insist on placing blame, cut the crap and put it where it belongs. You're the one who decided to make the purchase, not Nintendo.

Unless DA_SHREDDER edited his comment, I don't see him blaming Nintendo for anything. He just said he's bored with the machine and wishes he never got it. That's a valid opinion.

People can criticize all they want. If their criticism doesn't make sense or doesn't inform others it should be taken with a grain of salt. Shredder's comments reveal a lot more than a problem with the machine and paint an unfair picture to those who may want to adopt.

Monster hunter tri G 3ds is releasing just a week before the vita in Japan.
It is also #4 in a recent famitsu poll of most wanted video games, a list in which only 1 vita game ranked in the top 25 (The new Persona 4 game, which I don't think is even releasing this year. Someone please verify this.)
I don't think it will dominate as much as you think. Of course, being a new piece of tech, it will still do incredibly well, regardless of how well the 3ds does

yup ...i was very pleased with my PSP 3000 its slim, light, has TV out and loaded with Skype.
Same with PS3 slim...i waited. and am now satisfied.
I would do the same with PS Vita.

yup call me insane...i was very pleased with my PSP 3000 its slim, light, has TV out and loaded with Skype at $100.00
Same with PS3 slim...i waited for a redesign & price drop and am now satisfied.
I would do the same with PS Vita with TV Out.

I played one for the first time on Saturday, and it hurt my eyes, I know I sound like a pussy but with 3D screens it takes me about 10-20 minutes to actually get use to it.

When you first use the 3DS, it feels weird on your eyes, but you'll quickly get used to it. After a few days, your eyes shouldn't bother you anymore when viewing the 3D.

I wanted to wait for Mario Land too, but couldn't. Instead I sold the system, and now I will be able to play Batman: Arkham City, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Dark Souls, Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

So, I preferred to play 6 games, than just one on the 3DS. The 3DS covered the price of 3 games, so it's cool.

I don't think a redesign will come until next holiday season.
Nintendo needs to make sure the second slide pad is widely received, or else there will be no point in a second slide pad revision at all.

the 2nd pad will be a success because its a success on the vita and its not even out yet.

6 months on and its still a bit rocky on the games front, however, as a 3DS owner since launch, I have a lot of games to look forward to. I'll be eternally disappointed by the 3DS' hardware and features, though. Especially when I get my PS Vita I'll just think, damn Nintendo, the 3DS could have been as good as this. However, got Super Mario 3D Land, Tales of Abyss, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revelations and Luigi's Mansion 2 to name a few to look forward to, so at least I'll get plenty of use out of it over the coming months.
