The Nintendo 3DS sixth months on

Nintendo Universe writes:

The Nintendo 3DS is an intriguing handheld gaming device. I had planned to get one, but did not pre-order a unit, nor did I think I would buy one during launch week. After talking to some of my friends online who had picked up a unit during launch, it really sparked my interest and I purchased a unit the Saturday after it was released.

six months on and still bored with the machine. I wish I never got this thing.

klecser4565d ago

I think this is probably an indicator of your original purchasing decision and expectations, not the device itself. Why is it that a gamer's own decisions never factor into discussions about dissatisfaction of a system? Could it be that we're sometimes not willing to admit that we made a decision without thought of our own habits and desires?

I refuse to tolerate this "its the company's fault" attitude to systems. Its bullshit. The reality is that no one knows your gaming habits and expectations better than you and you had access to a ton of information out of the gate. If you aren't enjoying the system, its your own fault. If you insist on placing blame, cut the crap and put it where it belongs. You're the one who decided to make the purchase, not Nintendo.

So, in your opinion, a person is not allowed to criticize anything that he or she has purchased?

meganick4565d ago (Edited 4565d ago )

@klecser

Unless DA_SHREDDER edited his comment, I don't see him blaming Nintendo for anything. He just said he's bored with the machine and wishes he never got it. That's a valid opinion.

klecser4564d ago

People can criticize all they want. If their criticism doesn't make sense or doesn't inform others it should be taken with a grain of salt. Shredder's comments reveal a lot more than a problem with the machine and paint an unfair picture to those who may want to adopt.

It had a rough start but its going to dominate the Holiday Season.

DarkTower8054565d ago (Edited 4565d ago )

Not in Japan ; ) The vita will most likely dominate there. In the rest of the world, it will dominate though.

ronin4life4565d ago

Monster hunter tri G 3ds is releasing just a week before the vita in Japan.
It is also #4 in a recent famitsu poll of most wanted video games, a list in which only 1 vita game ranked in the top 25 (The new Persona 4 game, which I don't think is even releasing this year. Someone please verify this.)
I don't think it will dominate as much as you think. Of course, being a new piece of tech, it will still do incredibly well, regardless of how well the 3ds does

Knowing Nintendo's business practice history and specially now in bed with Capcom.... I am waiting for a 3DS + Lite + i + XL + redesign + price drop & decent library of available games.

meganick4565d ago

Do you always wait for redesigns? Every gaming machine gets redesigned these days including consoles.

miyamoto4564d ago (Edited 4564d ago )

yup ...i was very pleased with my PSP 3000 its slim, light, has TV out and loaded with Skype.
Same with PS3 slim...i waited. and am now satisfied.
I would do the same with PS Vita.

DarkBlood4565d ago (Edited 4565d ago )

are you insane a redesign sure but a price drop? its already cheap as it is i expect no more then a 30 or 20 dollar price drop if it comes to fruition next 2 years

miyamoto4564d ago

yup call me insane...i was very pleased with my PSP 3000 its slim, light, has TV out and loaded with Skype at $100.00
Same with PS3 slim...i waited for a redesign & price drop and am now satisfied.
I would do the same with PS Vita with TV Out.

Never played any of these versions, but if they're as good as everyone says, I will have to pick them up for 3DS.

New Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon Key Art From a Retail Poster

This image basically confirms that in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon we will be seeing an alternate story. While it has been stated by Nintendo multiple times that this was the case, they were never really clear on it.

Why in fucks name did the designs for the mc make it through the planing stages of development? They are by far the worse thing pokemon have produced.

MeteorPanda2404d ago

but...you customize your own characters now? l dont like that boys neck. holy shit it's about as strong as a twig

Antnee5342403d ago

I understand that, but if you pick a boy you get the worse choices.

MeteorPanda2403d ago

oh for sure. The franchise just shits on the male version more and more per new entry, lol

Antnee5342403d ago

It's so weird being that the player base is 70/30 male you know. You would think that they would give the males a better choice selection.
