What may happen when a mainly single player game, such as Uncharted 3, employs an online pass?
Just played the beta, and I'm sorry, though I love the single player for Uncharted 1 and 2, the multiplayer isn't good enough to justify an online pass. But whatever you guys' think.
You do know that you don't pay any more money when you buy it new right? I am beginning to think too many gamers, especially ones who write blogs and have a voice, are either retarded, ADDS, just plain hard of hearing or lack reading and hearing comprehension. Also how is Uncharted 3 mainly a single player game. It has as much if not more online mp components than many games with mp these days, PLUS it has an unparalleled sp campaign all polished up to near perfection with very little bugs. If this isn't worth us paying for a new copy then what game is? It'a also funny how there aren't any article explaining how many other games coming out and out now that has an online pass or equivalent. Bunch of click whores.
Why are they all over Uncharted 3 for this when there are other games doing this as well. Most people that like the series are planning on buying the game new anyway, so non of us have to pay anything at all for an online pass. I love how suddenly people and journalists make it sound as if the majority of fans will buy the game used and that the online pass is some sort of subscription you have to keep paying. /s ____ @DA_SHREDDER I don't understand what's "not good enough". Your skill maybe? lol The same gameplay from the single-player translates into the multiplayer, with co-op, team objectives and other things. It has more than what some other MP games offer and less issues than many. I'm personally having a bit more fun with the MP now than I did playing the summer Beta.
I don't care I wont be playing the mp anyway because its just boring.
I like the MP, been playing since the beta started, but yeah SP is where it's at. I can't wait to buy UC3, gonna pickup Batman: AC soon as well. Edit: @ DA SHREDDER and train I thought the UC2 online was alright. Alot of people still play it even after 1.05. @ Oldman Yeah, doesn't affect me either since I buy new usually. Alot of people must buy used. *shrug*
I think its a good idea, as long as it applies to the online portion only. Servers can't fund themselves and developers/publishers get nothing when you buy used. And seeing as psn is free they need to get that cash somewhere. They just don't like the fact they are providing service (servers for the game, not psn) to someone that gave them nothing in return. It makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. As long as you buy new there should be no issue. Why wouldn't you want to support a great game like uncharted 3 anyway? Even if you were to buy used it's only $5 cheaper, so i don't really see the point in doing so.
Why is UC3's online pass a 'bad idea'. What about everyone else who is implementing it for their games? Why pick on ND and UC3? @ DA_SHREDDER. I don't think the online pass is 'justified' by anyone. It doesn't matter who is implementing it. It is either a bad idea or a good idea. You can't say some MP is justified to have it and some aren't. That's idiotic.
Why don't they just do what pc does - the serial key that ties purchases to accounts?
