Raccoon tails are everywhere in Super Mario 3D Land, but only to highlight the fact that Nintendo has no idea why they were fun in the first place.
So, is Mario a "furry" or not?
I wonder how he gets the tail? Use your imagination because I will not say how. Lol XperiaRay
Can you at least still turn to stone with the Tanooki suit in Super Mario 3D Land, or did Nintendo take that away, too?
The trailer just shows spinning around, I think...So I dunno, but i wouldn't get my hopes up (just in case).
Well, the expanded cover art shows Luigi as a stone statue.... http://3ds.nintendolife.com...
In case you can't tell by my avatar on the right, I really think Mario 3 had the best powerups...but as long as Nintendo doesn't screw up the Kuribo's Shoe, I'll be okay. It's a Mario game, if I had a 3DS I'd play it no matter what. (Part of the problem)
Agreed! Not even the cape in Super Mario World was as good as half the stuff in SMB3, power-up-wise. But I will have to check this one out. It's Mario...can't avoid it.
I prefer the SMW cape anyway.
Ha! I just wrote above that the cape wasn't as good. Not trying to be a dick or anything. Just thought it was funny your comment came right after mine, around the same time. :)
Pretty sure they could have made the flight like the cap in 64... or similar anyway... the whole point of the Tanooki suit was flight, because tail spins were just asking for trouble.
Please. A real tanooki pulls it's scrotum up over it's head to hide/shapeshift. Let's see Mario do THAT.
I don't see any problem with it.
WHAATTTTT!!!!! you can't fly?!??! this is a pure scandal!!!! what else is that tail really good for? to be a crappy distance limited fireball replacement? LAME
I wouldn't mind if mario could fly in the 2D parts, plus there is a run button too. But flying in 3D might be a problem.
Super Mario land 2d owns this poor excuse
What's sad is the writer of the article ranting about how the game doesn't deserve to be played just because Mario can't fly using the tail...
What proof have you?
*eyeroll at article* Someone is highly underestimating nintendo's ability to design levels around a powerup. You may not have the p bar but you can bet you are going to be doing some crazy stuff with that tail. Also, to be honest, I was always equally enthralled with the tails ability to fly as I was with the fact i could use it as a close range weapon and to adjust jumping.
