One Piece: Kaizoku Musou is a PS3 game developed by Omega Force, the guys behind the famous Dynasty Warriors series. The game will have the entire One Piece story following the manga from East Blue to after the timeskip. No release date has been given yet but we hope to have one soon.
Former PlayStation US bigwig Shawn Layden has weighed in on the subject of video game preservation during a chat with Lan Parties, stating that more should be done by the big players in the industry to help preserve games.
Preservation is important. I’m hoping that more people in the industry, certainly the big players, begin to realize that there’s an obligation and responsibility. This isn’t throw-away stuff we’re making. This is stuff that should be around for a long time because future generations will enjoy it in the same way that we have and it’s criminal that we’re not doing more to protect it.
Sony in particular has come under attack for its poor attitude towards game preservation, having originally announced plans to shutter the PSP, PS Vita, and PS3 stores back in March 2021. This was met with widespread backlash, resulting in the format holder confirming the Vita and PS3 stores would remain open.
Whilst the compang does the bare minimum with backwards compatibility?
Does this mean we can have a lot more "Playstation Classics"? I don't feel like we're getting enough for what was promised, at least they added a few games this month.
Sony is in a position where they could do a lot, with their premium games. They have all the systems in place to do something cool on the psp, ps2 and psx front, but they don't really want to, it seems.
Maul Squad: I’m a fan of the One Piece series, there, I’ve admitted it. I’ve watched the anime and I currently read the manga weekly when it’s been scanned and translated with many other mangas which I’m in the middle of reading. For anime inspired games, there are a couple of gems in the rough but I don’t really play anime inspired games for the same reason why nobody plays licensed movie games, they’re normally turd (I’m looking at you Gungrave) and only accessible for fans of the series. One Piece: Pirate Warriors falls head first into that category.
I'm a huge OP fan but the games are just boring, I've never liked the Dynasty Warriors games. I with this was more of an RPG or open world type game. The entire wave after wave after wave of the same things get so boring. I bought the first one but never made it past Choppers arc because I just wasn't having fun anymore.
Is it so much to ask for a good game based on one of my favourite animes?I like the game but I can honestly say if it wasn't based on one piece it would suck to me.
I loved this game, though I do agree with all of the negative points about it. The way the awesome story of the series was told in the game was indeed lame, and there were way too many QTEs. I agree though, if not for the One Piece stuff the game would be crap. One Piece is my favorite anime/manga though so I'll gobble up anything to due with it; I only had two coins left before I could platinum this one, and now if they would just lower the price of the second game, I would be all up in that right now.
"They have the original Japanese voice actors from the anime with no English language setting in sight (thank god) so for fans of the anime it’ll sit right with them."
....Unless of course fans of the anime also happen to like the English dub.
Several new screenshots, featuring the Nico Robin Kimono costume DLC in addition to another downloadable scenario, has been revealed for the Playstation 3 exclusive title, One Piece: Kaizoku Musou.
Plays just like DW??Count me in.
I'm not impressed by this seeing how the developers of the Naruto games managed to translate the anime to a game.
Looks good enough for me.
wooo, I love One Piece and I love dynasty warriors!
love one piece favorite anime right now
but I'm not such a big fan of dynasty warriors
