EGMNOW:OVERKILL’s upcoming first-person rob-and-mob, Payday: The Heist is almost ready to invade PSN, and though your opportunity to crack safes, rob mints and bust up drug rings is still a little ways off, the folks at Sony were kind enough to give us an early glimpse at the game’s considerable trophy offerings.
Free PC games this week include XCOM Enemy Unknown, Payday: The Heist, Aliens vs Predator 2000, Crash Time 2 and more.
In celebration of reaching 1.5 million members on Payday 2's official Steam community group, Overkill is releasing Payday: The Heist completely free for 24 hours starting October 16th, 2 days ahead of the originally planned date - October 18th.
The game will be free to download/keep, and will stay in your Steam library as long as you claim it within the specified 24 hour window.
So last time, the Payday 2 community was just short of 1,000,000 players and we were given 3 months roughly to gain 500,000 more! A rather large and daunting task, one I didn’t believe was possible, I am, however, beginning to change my tune on that.
I'll be glad to see an introduction of MORE infamy bonuses. It's still majorly unfinished.
A PS4 version would of been prime after the Hardline delay, but no one expected that.
It is but CrimeFest might not actually apply to PS4 & X1 so I didn't feel comfortable adding those channels to this article.
Some of it will arrive probably - free DLC, masks etc. But Overkill are being slow on Console DLC's, this might be fought with the CrimeWave Editions (just package the DLC with the base game) - but other things in CrimeFest won't make the Consoles e.g. Free Payday The Heist, that's soley PC I believe so console owners won't prosper from that.
EDIT - correction Payday The Heist IS on PS3 but that still wont reach X360, PS4 or X1 most probably.

Too many luck based trophies that rely on other people on higher difficulties. Eg. "Beat any heist on Overkill difficulty with three other players who are all using the Noob Lube perk." I could never even get the WipEout trophy for everyone simply having different skins, lol. This will require mandatory boosting.
