Destructoid - Review: Batman: Arkham City

It doesn't quite reach the highs of its predecessor, but Arkham City rarely sinks low and does its best to answer major criticisms from the first title. When it's all said and done, you'll be begging for more, but not because there wasn't enough. It is just too damn fun to be The Bat.

Very easy for destructoid to break anyone's excitement. Yet anything above 7 is great score and gamers are forgetting that.

This game so far with its little reviews got a 97% metacritic....wow if this carries on this will be pretty hard to beat..and lead to being GOTY if Uncharted 3 or Skyrim dont have anything to say :D

The problem I have with Jim Sterling's review is he gave Two Worlds 2 an 8/10, so by his logic, Arkham City is only .5 of a better game than that. I'm sorry no, not even subjectively, period.

Just like Arkham City can be a 10/10 for one person, a 7/10 for another person, and a 2/10 for another person. It's all opinion.

Logicwins is right. It's common sense. Nobody has the same opinion as the other guy. Lost Planet 2 recieved negative scores, but I thought the game was great. See?

You believing that all reviews need to be consistent is an invalid opinion because it contradicts the very meaning of a review: different people giving different opinions on a game.

I love KZ3 but it's no where near perfect.

Although the perfect game is impossible a 10/10 score should only be reserved for a game that is pretty much as close to perfect as possible.

GG made alot of glaring mistakes with KZ3 - removing the indepth stats of KZ2, removing custom ranked games, the poor map designs (Phyrus Crater, Corinth Highway, Akmir Snowdrift and Turbine Concourse in particular), the short disjointed single player and the tacked on Co-op.

This reviewers reviewing skills are very questionable and obviously unreliable if he awarded KZ3 a perfect score and if the scores Chuk5 quoted are correct.

Although I've got no problem with this score, I just find Destructoid reviews to be completely useless at this point. I can't imagine anyone making their purchase decision based on a Destructoid review.

Why would people buy a game based on reviews anyway? Go rent it, make your own mind, and buy it if you want to play more...

Reviews are just there to know of other people's opinion of a product, not to dictate where the buyer's money goes...

He seems to have very discerning tastes, to put it mildly. Coming from Jim, though this is a very good score (if you juxtapose his scores for most popular games alongside this one).

At least he's honest, I suppose.
