IGN: Top 100 Games of all time #100-91

* Eligible games had to have been released no later than December 31, 2006 (perspective is a good thing)
* A number of factors were taken into consideration when selecting a winner: How good the game was compared to others of its time, its overall game design, how well it stands up over the years, how influential it has been in the realm of gaming and just plain how much fun we had playing it are all points for contention.
* The list is comprised of single, stand-alone titles and doesn't include compilations, expansion packs or add-ons.
* Titles with multiple editions such as collector's boxes, gold editions or direct re-releases have been consolidated into one single entry, with the edition deemed most deserving taking precedence.
* Updated versions of original titles were only included on the list if they were significantly different from their predecessors.

question: didn't they do this last year as well?

TruthbeTold6001d ago

They did it a few years ago, but they say that they are involving more people this time, and mention that several very good games have come out since then that should be included.

ReBurn6001d ago

It makes sense to revise the list over time. Many great games have come along in the last couple of years.

I still enjoy playing Pilotwings.

Brainiac 86001d ago

was one of my favorite games I had for my beloved Dreamcast. It was the last great Rayman platformer. Even though the Rabbid games are very fun party games...they are not part of the core series.

Ocarina of time will be number 1 all over again

Brainiac 86001d ago

It could also be Super Mario Bros 3, which almost always ends up at the top of the best games lists.

BIoodmask6001d ago

Rayman 2 was one of the best platformers on Dreamcast. Waverace and Pilotwings are also true classics.

I am also really glad to see Bionic Commando on the list. Nice to note that Capcom is finally releasing a sequal after two decades.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Super Mario Galaxy on the revised list for this year. It has recently topped Metacritic as the highest rated game ever.

TruthbeTold6001d ago

The deadline for a games release was December of last year. So Galaxy, and the rest of the current great new games will have to wait until the next go around. Probably a good thing.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
