MW3 won’t have Black Ops’ Character Customization, but will have an “Enhanced” Theater Mode

Although Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2, comparisons with the previous Call of Duty title, Black Ops, are bound to happen. Robert Bowling shed some light on some of the similarities and differences between the two games in question.

Face paint was a gimmick in Black Ops. I don't mind that it's not coming back. As long as they work on balance, I'm happy.

Mister_V4394d ago

I dont think I ever used face paint even once!

jbl3164394d ago

I didn't even know the game has face paint lol. Although I haven't played this game since last year...

blumatt4394d ago

I just hope that the theatre mode doesn't become Elite only. I don't want features taken away that the older games had, just to become Elite "features". I'm not going to buy Elite, because I don't buy into the whole DLC map pack thing. I'll buy the game (regular version) and play it like hell, but I'm not giving them more money for stuff that could've been on the disc when I picked it up. lol

Criminal4394d ago

@Blumatt
Theater mode will be available to everyone. Elite paid members will get extra features.

rabidpancakeburglar4394d ago

I used face paint a lot when I was a kid but when it came to black ops I just wasn't interested, I guess I'm just growing up :(

blumatt4394d ago

Oh, ok, man. That's definitely good news to hear. I hope this game can bring us back to the CoD4 days.

Corepred44394d ago

Kind of a downer that they won't have character customization. I know its not a big issue but I would love to have my own custom guy instead of one of these generic faces they give you. Just gives it a personalized feeling especially when you are playing with friends and you kill their character! lol oh well i'll still enjoy the game.

Dolphin diving? lol, good one Rob. I think it's pretty sad how people who work at the same company (Activision) like to ridicule each other.

BTW, I liked the face paint, it made for good camouflage.

Mister_V4394d ago

Never cared much for it. I won't find it a loss.

narutogameking4394d ago

They're not "ridiculing" each other.
You're just being paranoid.

Sukebe_Gamer4394d ago

I think Rob is a little ticked that BO out did MW2 in sales. It's good that they have some kind of rivalry within the company. In theory, that competitive type of environment should push them improve their games to new heights. lol

JohnApocalypse4394d ago

Facepaint wasn't really small add-on. I prfer my character to wear a gas mask anyway

Mister_V4394d ago

From the early leaked pictures of MW3, It looked like we were going to be able to customize masks n such.

Heartnet4394d ago

they were leaked :) said it all xD

SpartanZero4394d ago (Edited 4394d ago )

Thats sucks I liked to hide in the bushes in jungle with the face paint ghillie suit with my camo sniper.

Criminal4394d ago

It's cool on paper, but do think it's an effective strategy?

EazyC4394d ago

Its about time they implemented proper character customization, with appearance, build, tattoos, outfits etc..

Criminal4394d ago

Just to clarify MW3 will not have that.

Fishy Fingers4394d ago

What FPS does? Let alone a military shooter. Military kind of like the outfits they issue.

KaBaW4394d ago (Edited 4394d ago )

Brink had it! :D There's prolly been others, too, I'm sure. Duno what though!
I'd like to see a military shooter have an in depth character customization..

jimmywolf4394d ago

don't worry MW4 will it big the biggest update to the game

Lavitz20124394d ago

If MW4 is the biggest update to cod since cod4 i will buy it but until then no buy.

BuffMordecai4394d ago (Edited 4394d ago )

Yeah, they should put Saint's Row level customization in. I'd be running through the jungle as Forest Gump.

The CoD MW3 Open Beta Reminded Me Why CoD Is the King of FPS

Timo Writes: "Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was first released in 2011 and was just another milestone in the global success story of the Call of Duty franchise. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 era titles of the series were the ones that cemented Activision's legacy, and its impact both culturally and in the games industry can't be understated.

Which is why I'm probably the worst or the best person to give my impressions.

My stint with Call of Duty started with a copy of World at War and ended after many long nights playing Black Ops 2 multiplayer matches with my brother on our couch. Now over 10 years later I get to play the Beta of the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 Remake/Reboot and was quite surprised to find out how little has changed"

King of twitch shooters not fps

anast5d ago

They have the best dots and mini-map, and those micros are top notch.

Zeref5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

If Halo Infinite didn't exist maybe

spicelicka5d ago

Agreed. It doesn't hold a candle to Halo Infinite. The sheer variety of content, focus on skill and balanced gameplay, and with firefight coming soon it's still the king despite the launch blunders.

TheColbertinator5d ago

Call of Duty is the king since every other FPS can't compete or died altogether. I won't bash it though as I play it every week.

Also no need to mention Halo, Doom, Rainbow Six, CS or Battlefield. I will not entertain your delusions.

Kaze885d ago

Also the worst spawns, maps (new ones, old ones are good if they havent touched them too much), lag compensation, SBMM.
