So there's a mandatory install for a music title basically?

princejb1344586d ago

yep 3.2gb according to the article but who cares this aint nothing new to us ps3 owners, i know I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me one bit

grailly4586d ago

It doesn't bother me for the install time or the disk space, but it makes me think the game is not well optimized. On top of that it's short and is quite expensive.

I'm not willing to pay a lot per hour for a "badly" developed game

Tired4586d ago

But the digital download is only 1.9gb. How can the disc take up 3.2?

princejb1344586d ago

@ hawkboi

digital downloads are usually compressed while the CD aren't

ferelinstincts4586d ago

Since when do music games require installs? lol

Quagmire4586d ago

DO people know this game only lasts for about an hour?

DeleteThisxx4586d ago

Since when is Child of Eden a music game

ShadyDevil4586d ago (Edited 4586d ago )

It has musical nuiances with bright colors going everywhere lol. Also the official thing says it is a Rhythm action game..so yeah.

DeleteThisxx4586d ago

Last I checked, a musical rhythm game had to do with, well... actual rhythm in order to progress, not music and bright colors... If only that constituted a rhythm game then I guess I could name an abundance of "rhythm" games.

Child of Eden requires absolutely no rhythm to play, it is an on rails shooter, nothing more/nothing less.

Ron_Danger4586d ago

@project

if you attack on the beat of the music you create combos which leads to higher scores and more unlocks. So in a way it is a rhythm music game.

"It is not much but the fact that more and more games are requiring mandatory installs can be quite a hassle."

I take it he doesn't play many PC games...

Robotronfiend4586d ago

He meant installs can be a hassle for console owners due to the much smaller avg HDD and increased difficulty in upgrading to a larger HDD.

DeleteThisxx4586d ago (Edited 4586d ago )

Increased difficulty? It took me 2 minutes to take out the blue screw, pull out my 60GB HDD and replace it with a 500GB, real difficult.

If you're referring to transferring all of the data which can take a long time then your argument is flawed because it takes just as much time, if not more, to transfer data from one PC HDD to another.

Edit: And all 360 has to do is purchase an overpriced HDD and pop it in. What's more difficult again?

_Aarix_4586d ago

@ProjectSiK

Expensive my ass, I bought a 250gb on amazon and buy.com for not even $50.

DeleteThisxx4586d ago

@aarix Congrats, you got ripped off, I got my 500 GB HDD for 40 dollars. Double the space and cheaper. P.S. Nearly every retail shop the 360 HDD goes for 100+, just because you happened to get it cheaper from one seller does not mean it isn't overpriced.

Godmars2904586d ago

My question is what is the thing's file size overall.

PirateThom4586d ago

2.4GB on 360.

It's installing the whole game and more.

Godmars2904586d ago

Really just supports my notion that the game should have been DL only and around $20-25. At least on the PS3.

Ron_Danger4586d ago

It's not much bigger than the 360 version... I think the only changes are move support and 3D... I bought it yesterday and this is the game to play if you want to show off you 3D tv... It looks unbelievable!!

Are video games art? Looking back at... Child of Eden

Jack writes: "“Are video games art?” This is a perennial argument, one with staunch advocates on both sides who are hard to sway. Naysayers, though, can be shown examples of art in video games that are hard to deny – such as the visuals of the sadly overlooked Child of Eden, released for Kinect in 2011."

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for December 2017 any good?

Neil writes: "It seems rather strange to be saying this but 2017 is fast coming to a close. Before we start to party the night away and usher in 2018 though, the Xbox Games With Gold scheme has got one last surprise up its sleeve - four free games being gifted to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 players.

But hot on the heels of November’s offerings that delivered so much (or at least three of the four did), can the free titles being given away during the month of December match up to the quality, or are we being sent a few duds that refuse to let us go out with a bang? We take a look at the good, the tempters and the, well, ugly."

I purchased BTTF on PS3 at the tail end of the system's life. I enjoyed Episode 1 but life went on and I never finished. I'm actually pretty psyched about getting that one.

Prince_TFK2330d ago

You should definitely play Back to The Future. No matter what reviewers say, I really enjoyed this game. The story is awesome and the twist is just heartbreaking.
