War is a dominant aspect of gaming. Shooters, strategy, action, RPG, and so on – they're all genres that regularly use war as the setting for their games. Some are set amongst a completely fictional narrative but just as many take place during historical events. As an individual pursuing my Master's degree in military history, I have a special perspective on real conflicts in games and I'd like to take up an issue with the gaming industry: Normandy Saturation.
