Imagine what they could do on the Wii U

Come on Nintendo give us a massive open world Mario game of the Mushroom kingdom, other islands and lands. You could ride karts, gliders, submarines, lakitu's cloud etc

With the Wii U apparently being more powerful an open world mario game could be massive.

Ya and to add to that. I want

Story - Im sorry but spice up the story. This goes for all of your franchises. Having the same story with minor changes isn't cute or funny anymore. There plenty of kid friendly platformers that had a good and funny story. Ratchet and clank and jax and daxter( first game) and many more.

Voice acting - Again im paying $60 for a game. I want some good production quality. I don't want to sit there and read text for the entire game.

Replayability - This is the most important one. After i finish the game. I want more stuff to do. So add extra costumes, achievements, etc. Nintendo a creative company. They could of think of some unique stuff.

Overall nintendo can't keep doing the usual when they start making games for the wiiU. It just unacceptable.

eagle214747d ago

That's all good and all..but I can replay Nintendo games the most. Don't even ask me how many times I've beat certain Nintendo games. Replayability is why I buy Nintendo.

Specifically speaking about Mario (since the article is about Mario)

"Story"

I'm sorry, if you play Mario plat formers for the narrative you are doing it wrong.

"Voice acting"

See above, and if we are not talking about Mario, take a look at how people reacted to Other M. It was a ambitious game and people kept on b!tching about it.

"Replayability"

If you can't find re-playability in Nintendos franchises then I dunno what to tell you.

-Mika-4747d ago

Again the game doesn't have to have a serious story. It can just be a comedy adventure. There this thing called character development. So excuse me for wanting my characters to have a personality. Story isn't only there for entertainment. It there to give the characters a personality which most Nintendo characters have.

People bitched about metroid m because of it horrible plot and controls. If they actually gave the game a decent story and design the game around a controller instead of that motion crap. It would have been a great game.

People who don't want to see mario or any of there other games actually have a story or give the characters VA. Then they are nintendo fanboys that holding nintendo and their games back.

another hey look at that looks good but its sd i know its on the game cube but its pretty crazy that 2012 we finally get hd games from Nintendo took long enough dam.

@below i know im just saying wiiu first hd console from Nintendo after what 12 consoles including handhelds like dam.

It a tech demo. All tech demos look amazing.

tigertron4747d ago

The Gamecube was a graphical powerhouse - and this shows it.

mcstorm4747d ago

Loved the gamecube but just like the n64 did not get the backing from 3rd partys. Looking forward to seeing what Nintendo do with the wiiu as they tried something new with the Wii and it payed off but they lost a lot of fans of what Nintendo is about but looking at what they have said about the 3ds and Wiiu I think we will have a very good next en from them and its up to MS and Sony to give us something for everyone next Gen.

Super Mario 64 DS: Remakes Done Right

Super Mario 64 DS was offered as a launch title for the Nintendo DS, a remake of the classic platform game with a few original tricks.

Chard144d ago

Not with those D-pad controls

CDbiggen144d ago

Needs more appreciation. I never had an N64 so this was what I played. Sure the Yoshi hat mechanic at first is a slog but you unlock Mario and the others for real and then it takes off. Personally I never had an issue with the controls. Can't forget the mini games and the 4 player rumble over download play.

kevco33144d ago

Indeed, as stated in the article there were tonnes of control options and very much a 'take whatever you like, leave the rest' attitude to most of the game's extras.

If they ever did I hope they would add onto it, there's so much you could do with Princess Peach's castle alone

roadkillers227d ago

Or just make the Mario 128... the cancelled sequel that sounded amazing (or was it just an amazing tale).

fr0sty227d ago

Funny that after all these years, we still use 64 bit CPUs, so it wouldn't make sense to call it that.

fr0sty227d ago

Yeah, a straight remake doesn't sound good to me. Same formula, but different game.

Number1TailzFan228d ago

Each level is pretty small today in the original game, I don't like huge levels but I think they could be at least 2x bigger, or close to it and more of them, with more things to do.

They could do a mix of having open levels and more linear ones like in 3D World or Land, I doubt they will do that but it would make a change.

Neonridr227d ago

I mean Odyssey's levels weren't massive, but requiring you to do different things in each world is what made the levels feel bigger than they were.

ZeekQuattro228d ago

I'd prefer a Oydessey 2 or Galaxy 3. Besides the DS
game was a Mario 64 remake complete with more playable characters, stages, bosses and muti player content.

Cacabunga227d ago (Edited 227d ago )

I did not like Odyssey i found the idea of ot lame.. i find it boring to just look for moons instead of exploring and enjoying the levels. Let’s not talk about the extremely repetitive and ridiculously easy bosses. Level design is so meh most of the time. Galaxy 2 is a far better game so Galaxy 3 anytime!!!

TiredGamer227d ago

Agreed. I enjoyed Odyssey for a while, but it quickly became very formulaic where each level felt like a checklist of things to do with WAY too many moons to find. The Galaxy series were the best, as they took some of what made 64 great and juiced it up perfectly.

Lolly227d ago

Yes! Let's release an almost 30 year old game to kick off the next generation for Nintendo...
I'm over re-releases...FEED ME NEW MARIO!
