Battlefield 3 beta: No level cap or rank limits

After reviewing the Battlefield 3 Beta FAQ section there will be no limitations on anything during the open beta. When we say anything we mean everything will be available to unlock.

This means you can play as long or as much as you like and rank up as high as the system allows. It also appears that all unlockables will be available during the time of the beta.

Considering they said it would take a year for a normal gamer to unlock everything, I doubt they're afraid anyone will even reach half the full cap...

bfbc2 beta (or demo, forgot what it was) had no level cap per se, they just made the lvl progression easy for the first couple, then all of a sudden made the exp to lvl up like 99mil

so technically, if they said this and did the same thing they did with bfbc2 beta/demo and eventually make the next lvl nearly, but not completely, to get to, they wouldnt be telling a lie by saying there is no lvl cap

It should be difficult to rank up

shack.
you'd be surprised to what kind of people there is out there.

DICE be trollin'. As soon as I saw this, I thought what ShackDaddy said. With a years worth of unlocks, playing every minute of every one of the 12-14 days of the beta would STILL not unlock but 4% of the game's unlocks.

Now, as to whether those claims of 1 year apply to casual, "play with ma buddies" gamers or "Christmas break, 8 hours a day" gamers, we've yet to find out.

They also said they never expected ppl to get level 50 in bad company 2 it won't take that long to unlock everything

SixZeroFour5025d ago

not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing...on the good side, we get to play it as if it were a full game release and DICE can gather info on how to balance the lvl/unlock progression incase its too hard to too easy

however on the bad side, any hacker would be able to possibly hack the beta and spoil every single rank, unlock, and attachable and how much exp (at the time) it takes to unlock each thing

Spinal5025d ago

Then beta is the best place for that to happen. Cause then DICE can patch any hacker exploits before the release.

I don't have any interest in Beta for regular games. I only play Beta for MMO's where a BETA is actually needed before commiting to a monthly subscription.

Im buying my Radeon 6950 so ill be prepped for the release of BF3 no beta needed here.

Must take a LOOOOONG time to level up. I remember DICE saying something about years of unlocks.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
