Blizzard not thinking about World of Warcraft 2

The developer behind the world's most popular MMO, World of Warcraft, has told that it has not even begun to think about a making a sequel. In an interview due to be published next week, Frank Pearce, executive vice-president of product development at US-based developer Blizzard, said that the team still has a "huge wishlist of exciting features" to implement in the current game.

World of Warcraft, or WoW as it's known to its army of fans, currently enjoys an astonishing active subscriber base of 9.3 million people worldwide, 300,000 more than it had six months ago.

I guarantee they're thinking about it, even if it's just in the "storyboarding" phase. But I'm sure the second iteration will have much improved graphics over it's predecessor, and Blizzard wants everyone to be able to play their game, no matter what kind of computer they own. That's a large part of WoW's success (and it didn't hurt that is has the name 'Warcraft' in it). I wouldn't be surprised if WoW2 isn't released for another 3 or so years, when everyone in the market will have computers that can support substantial upgrades in the game.

Also, they're making boatloads of money off of WoW, so there's no rush.
