And can the CoD kids be taught a lesson on skill? HE: Ever since the advent of Counter-Strike, there has been one core factor that PC gamers loved and that many people fail to acknowledge as an important part of a game; the requirement of skill. CS is easily one of the most popular eSports out there, be it in the 1.6 or source flavours, CS has always been a field that allowed players to decide the winning team with skill strategy and sheer brilliance, something that has been lost in my opinion due to the advent of noobish games; games that not only allow but promote the usage of tactics that require little to no skill, abilities and perks that completely break games; Modern Warfare 2, I’m looking at you!
As if 2023 wasn't stacked enough Valve seems to be teasing Counter-Strike 2's impending launch
Gamezo writes "A Twitch streamer has uncovered a modded Rocket League server in CS 1.6, and the Counter-Strike community is amazed by it."
The CS:GO community is desperately scouring for clues about the launch of Counter-Strike 2 and the game's new logo might well hold the answers.
Not a fan of Valorant and the whole cartoony visuals and selectable heroes with their own powers etc. Please stop following the fortnite/overwatch trends...all I want is boots on the ground classic shooter like CS again. Please Valve...release this game soon already.
If the graphics still suck then it demands a player who doesn't mind bad graphics!
Counter strike is true skills.
I'm decent at it, so no.
In Counter Strike, you have to take things more slowly, work with your teammates, and master your weapon. Personally, games like that are easier for me because they're not as reliant upon quick reflexes as something like Call of Duty. It really all depends on the player and his or her strengths as a gamer.
Anybody can get good at either game if they learn the ins and outs of the mechanics and practice enough- there is nothing special or elite about it, no matter how much that thought may validate some sad, sad people.
In this day and age, I'd consider Counter-Strike to be one of the most unforgiving and brutal learning curves for online FPS's. Its sensibilities are old school in a number of ways, but the game rewards amateur players with a desire to get better, such is the case with most huge online shooters.
To this day, I don't think there is a game that I've put more hours into than Counter Strike 1.6 and Source combined. Anyone not willing to pick up Global Offensive because of the underwhelming visuals obviously don't play online shooters terribly often.
