New Suikoden Announced for PSP

Konami announced today that it is developing a new entry in the Suikoden RPG series. The new game is titled Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki and is in development for the PSP.

2d graphics in HD for a traditional JRPG on Vita.
It would have been the smartest move KONAMI had done since years !

Actually, my main problem with Japanese developers still developing games on the PSP is that by the time the game gets released in Japan, the Vita will likely be out in most regions of the world. And with the NA's PSP library being left in the dust lately, compared to the huge enthusiams both gamers and publishers have for the Vita, I fear this game might never make it to the NA or EU markets.

We've already seen a good bunch of games be Japan exclusives on the PSP, and I hope this changes with the Vita.

So late....I would still buy it though. One of my favorite series ever. I just love how you collect the 108 stars of destiny and use them in wars.

Eevn if it is a spinoff (which we dont know), the ds game was unbelievable.

We will never see a suikoden game on anything beyond psp. Imagine all the work required to created 108 stars in high detail, as well as vast landscapes, and a new battle engine. They also have no idea were to go with the canon storyline since the original creator left. Konami is not willing to invest that much manpower($) into a cult franchise for a current or next Gen system. Simple as that. It's f'n sad.

I hope they do but its on the PSP when the PSV is just around the corner. :/

So I dunno if Konami will do us a favor and localize this game so they can take our cold hard earned cash from us.

Although I'm a bit disappointed they are going Teirkies route instead of continuing the original story. I miss Vicki and Jeanne too much. lol!

Yeah it is kind of odd, but at the same time i dont care. Suikoden is awesome xD.

As much as i want a new main entry in the series, Tierkreis was to damned awesome. So them going that route doesnt bother me one bit.

I really enjoy the Suikoden games, though I really wish they would have made this for one of the big consoles. Oh well, if this comes to the US, at least I'll have a reason to dust off my PSP.
